The days following the 4th of July have passed in a blissful storm of emotions for Daisy. She has never felt more loved and lonely at the same time. Conrad and her have been seeing each other every day since her confession and she has never been happier after finally letting the butterflies consume her. However, at the same time, her parents had yet again told her that they would not be making it to her Deb Ball. Sending her a bouquet of hydrangeas and a card signed with kind regards

But as in normal Astor manner, Daisy did not allow herself to show her disappointment to anyone but Conrad. Who tried reminding her that at least they remembered (even though he felt anger rise up inside of him when she told him the news). She saw it in his eyes and very much appreciated that he at least pretended it wasn't a big deal. After all, her grandparents had already bought their new tux and dress for the occasion, happily being part of it.

What more would the blonde ask for then two loving grandparents sacrificing their whole summer (and more if they could) to be part of her life?

As if it wasn't enough feelings consuming her, the volleyball tournament was right around the corner. Anxiety was plaguing the normally so confident blonde. God did she despite exercise. And boy was she bad at it, as well. Her only hope was to team up with Conrad, knowing he was an excellent athlete. Or to bail altogether. She hadn't decided yet.

With that in mind, Daisy made her way to pick up Conrad from work, knowing that he would be more easily persuaded to be a last-minute team member with croissants in his stomach. With iced coffee in one hand and a bag filled with croissants in the other, Daisy made her way down the pier.

Daisy was able to spot Conrad from a far, seemingly in a deep conversation with his boss. Frowning slightly, Daisy came closer, catching up on Clevelands last words, "This is happening whether you say it out loud or not. Conrad, it's not on you. Okay? But you need to talk to Daisy"

"It's not on me," Conrad repeatet, as Daisy came in a halt behind the men.

"Talk to me about what?" Daisy asked softly, as both Conrad and Cleveland turned around surprise at her voice.

"Well that would be my cue," Cleveland said uncomfortably as he stood up from his spot, looking at the teenagers, "See you around"

Smiling kindly at the men, Daisy took his spot next to Conrad, frowning slightly as she spotted his sad eyes, "What happening, Connie?"

"I-I don't really know how to talk about it," the oldest Fisher boy replied, looking along the water.

"It's okay, talk when you are ready," Daisy replied kindly, taking his hand in hers.
