"fuck"
Daisy immediately turned around at the sound of Jeremiah's voice. But instead of the younger brother, Daisy's eyes instantly met the ones responsible for her heartbreak.
"Oh, the guy from the Pie Place," Kendall exclaimed happily, ignoring the obvious tension that broke out. However, no one answered her, as Daisy's eyes were still linked to Conrad's.
A feeling of regret washed over her, as she saw the pain in his eyes. She should have known that she could run into him here, that he would see her and Ashton together.
"You knew she was here with them?" Conrad turned to his brother, the pain never leaving his voice as his voice remained stonic.
"Oh fuck, you are Conrad, right?" Kendall finally connected the dots, looking worriedly between Ashton and him.
"Yes, I am," he answered, as Jeremiah shared the same worried look with Kendall, "You are Kendall, right?"
Daisy's stomach was in a knot by now. Not only did her ex-boyfriend catch her kissing her whatever they were, but he immediately connected the dots. When they were still together, Conrad was worried about Ashton and his intentions with Daisy. But he trusted her. Now, it must look to him as if all that trust was in vain.
"I am," Kendall replied dryly, balancing from one feed onto the other, still the worried expression on her face.
"And I am Skye," another person suddenly exclaimed, making Daisy finally notice that the two brothers weren't alone, "I'm their cousin."
"Oh," Daisy breathed confused, eyebrows furrowed as she sent a wave their way, "I'm Daisy, nice to meet you"
"Oh, you were at the house earlier, weren't you?" Skye asked with a smile, unaware of the tension filling the space around them, "My mom mentioned it"
"You were at his house?" Ashton spoke for the first time, furrowing his eyebrows angrly, "I thought you were out with Nicole."
"I was, I just," Daisy began to stutter, at a loss for words as everyone's gaze fell on her again, a pair of blue eyes being the most persistent of them all, "Nicole told me that their house was for sale and I just wanted to be close to Susannah"
Jeremiah looked down at his shoes at the mention of his late mother, while Conrad's eyes shifted into feeling that Daisy could not yet identify.
"You could have mentioned it," Ashton continued to accuse the girl, making Kendall intervene quickly, "Drop it, Ash, leave her be."
