◇ Chapter 4: Robin and Will Part 1 ◇

It was another sunny day when Will Byers woke up. He woke up to find that Mike wasn't in bed. He must've went downstairs, Will thought. Will changed into a t shirt and some trousers and walked down stairs. Mike was sitting at the kitchen table with his family and Johnathan was next to Nancy. ''Good morning Will!'' Karen said, looking at the brunette entering the kitchen. ''Good morning,'' Will said, returning the greeting. Will sat down beside Mike. Karen put scrambled eggs infront of him and Will thanked her and began to put maple syrup on his eggs. Mike did the same.

After breakfast, Will went upstairs with Mike behind him. Once they entered Mikes room, they sat down on his bed in an awkward silence. Will noticed that something was off with Mike. ''Mike?'' Will spoke. ''Yeah?'' Mike answered. ''Are you OK?'' Will asked him. ''Yeah. I'm OK.'' Mike said, lying to him. ''Mike.'' Will said once again. ''What?'' Mike answered again. ''Tell me the truth. Something's on your mind. What is it?'' Will pleaded Mike to tell him what was on his mind until Mike gave up. ''Fine. So I have this book that's always on my des but I can't find it anywhere,'' Mike sounded worried. Should I tell him? thought Will, but I really want to see what he's written! Maybe if I ''help'' him look for it maybe he won't be so worried? Yeah, that's what I'll do.

''I could help you look for it,'' Suggested Will. ''Really?'' Mike said. ''Of course! You're my best friend and I'll help you with anything!'' Will exclaimed. Mike smiled at him and Will felt his cheeks go slightly red. The two boys looked for the book everywhere. When Mike wasn't looing, Will slipped the book out of his suitcase and to under the bed. ''Mike! I found it!'' Will said, standing up. ''Thanks Will, you're a life saver'' Mike said, taking the book from out of his hands and then putting it in his desk drawer.

Once he did so, he turned around to stare at Will, who had his back to him. He began to think about Will and how funny and cute he was. Wait what? Cute? No, no, no, no! I have a girlfriend! I can't say that! And it's totally wrong to like your bestfriend! Isn't it? Mike added as an afterthought. By this time, Will turned around and he was staring at Mike. They both zoned out, staring at eachother without knowing. Suddenly, Will got a text from his phone, making Will and Mike getting out of their trance. Will checked his phone to see who texted him. The boys were both embarrassed, because they both noticed that they have been staring at eachother.

An unknown number texted Will. Will wasn't sure if he should open it or not. The unknown number sent yet again one more message. Will decided to open it.

*****: hello?

Will: Hello. Who are you?

*****: I'm Robin, you dingus.

Will: Oh! Robin! How'd you get my number?

*****: Dustin.

Will: Oh Ok. What's up?

*****: I was wondering if you wanted to meet up somewhere if you're not busy.

Will: Well, we have to put all our stuff into Hoppers house which might take a while. You could help if you want to.

*****: Sure, I don't mind! Did you sleep well?

Will: Yeah. Why?

*****: Oh nothing😏

Will: Robin!

*****: Alright alright. Meet you later yeah?

Will: Yeah. Bye!

*****: Bye!

Will turned his phone off and faced Mike, who was watching him text. ''Who was that?'' Mike queried. ''Oh it was Robin,'' Will said with a smile, making Mike's cheeks go the faintest red. What is wrong with me? First, I wake up to my arm draped around Will's waist. Second, I catch myself thinking him cute and third I'm blushing when he smiles? I have to get that thought out of my head! Mike thought. ''How'd she get your number?'' Mike asked the brunette. ''Oh, apparently Dustin gave it to her. Anyway, I have to get some soon because I have to help Mom, Hopper and El around the new house,'' Will explained. ''Right then. I'll bring your suitcase down.'' Mie said, going over to the suitcase. ''No, no. I can do it myself Mike.'' Will said, blocking him and walked over to his suitcase and lifted it up. Mike smiled and Will smiled back ,without blushing, and they both walked down stairs.

Johnathan was waiting for Will at the bottom of the stairs with Nancy. They were both chatting about whether they got they're acception letters from the college they both want to go to. ''Will!'' Exclaimed Johnathan. ''I was just going to come up to check if your ready to go. Anyway, Hoppers outside in his truck.'' Johnathan said. ''OK. Well I'm ready. I'll put my suitcase in the truck I'll be back,'' Will said, taking off. ''I'll come with you,'' Johnathan said, following his younger brother. The two Wheelers were left in the hall in an awkward silence. ''Are you happy that Will's back?'' Nancy asked her brother. This was weird behavior from her. She's never really bothered with Mike's friends. ''Yeah of course I am. He's my bestfriend, why wouldn't I be?'' Mike said. ''Oh, just wondering. That's all,'' Nancy said giving him a small smile. ''Anyway, aren't you meeting with Robin today?'' Mike questioned Nancy. ''No, she said she's gonna be with Will today. Which is weird,'' Nancy added. ''Will never told me that.'' Mike said. ''Oh for God's sake Mike! He doesn't have to tell you everything!'' Nancy said, exasperated. And they were back to normal. Snapping at eachother. Johnathan and Will came back.

''Well, see you guys later then,'' Johnathan said, hugging Nancy a hug and Mike a small nod. Karen appeared at the door. ''Leaving already?'' She asked Johnathan, nodding at the truck. ''Yeah, Mom wants us to help as soon as possible,'' Johnathan said. ''Oh alright then. Tell her to pop in sometime OK?'' Karen said. ''Don't worry, I will.'' Johnathan said. ''Also, thank you for having us stay.'' He added. ''Oh it was no problem!'' Karen said, smiling at him. ''Right. Will, I'll let you say your goodbyes and then we'll head off OK?'' Johnathan said. ''OK,'' Wills aid, watching his brother walk to the truck.

Will turned to Mike. Will smiled at him and said, ''See you later maybe?''. ''Yeah. Bye Will!'' Mike said. Will then turned to Karen. ''Thank you ,again, for having us stay.'' Will said. ''Oh it's no problem ,really!'' Karen exclaimed. Karen liked Will best out of Mike's friends. He was more mature and calm and way more sensible.

''Goodbye then,'' Will said, smiling and walked away. Mike felt himself smile at the brunette walking away.

Will hopped in the truck. ''All ready?'' Hopper asked. ''Yep.'' Will and Johnathan answered as they drove off. Will couldn't wait to see El again.
