‹‹ Chapter 17: Coming Out ››

It has been a few weeks since Mike and Will have started dating. They both seem very devoted to eachother. Max and El are very happy with the two of them. Lucas and Dustin, however, have absolutely no clue what was been going on.

So, today, Mike has decided to "come out" to Lucas and Dustin tonight. They were spending the night at Lucas's and everyone was going to be there so it would be easier. Mike and Will had arrived at Lucas's together, Max and El arrived together and Last but definitely not least, Dustin came after everybody.

They all decided to hang out in Lucas's basement which was recently done up. Once the Party all settled down, they were trying to decide what movie to watch. ''Well, I think we should watch this one!'' Lucas stated. ''Well, I want to watch this one!'' Dustin argued, holding up a case. ''Oh my God, can't we all agree on like a movie that suits all of us instead of arguing?'' Will suggested, covering his face in his hands in exasperation.

''And what movie is that, Will?'' Dustin said. ''I don't know! Let's just find  an appropriate movie for all of us to watch!'' Will said. After about fifteen minutes, El finally found a good movie. The Party settled into comfortable positions and began to watch the movie. The entire time they were watching the movie, Will and Mike kept their hands entwined as if they would never let go.

Mike, unlike the rest, wasn't focusing on the movie. He was too busy thinking of how to tell Dustin and Lucas that he was going out with Will. He kept trying to think of how to start the conversation but it just didn't work out. Mike was so busy trying to think about how to tell them, he hadn't realized that the movie had ended. Will waved his hand infront of Mike's face to get Mike's attention.

''Sorry, I zoned out.'' Mike smiled at his boyfriend. Will leaned in closer to Mike. ''Have you thought of a way about telling them yet?'' Will whispered to him. ''No. I did try Will, I just can't seem to think of a good way to tell them,'' Mike whispered back. ''It's alright, don't worry. I highly doubt them to be homophobic, Mike.'' Will whispered as he grabbed Mike's hand and held it. The two boys smiled at eachother.

''Right! How about we play two truths and a lie?'' Max suggested. Everyone agreed. ''Alright, who wants to start?'' Max asked. ''I will!'' El exclaimed. Max smiled at her. ''Alright so, uh, I have brown hair,'' The Party laughed as if this was going to be very easy. ''My favorite color is purple, and I'm, uh, going out with Max,'' El finished. Max smiled at her and she smiled back.

Lucas seemed to have missed the smile between the two girls because he said, ''I don't think your going out Max,'' Lucas laughed. Mike, Will, El and Max stared at him. Lucas finally got it. ''Wait, you actually are?'' He asked. ''Well, yeah,'' Max replied. ''How long have you two been going out?'' Lucas asked again. ''Two weeks I think,'' Max said.

''Wait was El the reason you broke up with me?'' Lucas questioned. ''Maybe,'' Max replied, smiling at her girlfriend. ''Well, I don't know what to say. I'm happy for both of you!'' Lucas said, smiling at both of them. Max and El held their hands kissed eachother quickly. ''Wait, did Mike and Will know about this too?'' Dustin asked this time. ''Yeah. We did.'' Will answered. ''So it was just Lucas and me who didn't know?'' Dustin asked. ''Yeah, sorry,'' Will replied, smiling.

''Is there anything else who should know? Anymore more secrets you guys are keeping?'' Dustin joked. Mike and Will glanced at eachother before laughing with the rest of that Party. ''Anyway, it's your turn Mike!'' El exclaimed. ''Why me?'' Mike asked El. ''Because I said so,'' El replied. ''Fine,'' Mike sighed. Everyone was waiting for Mike to start. ''Alright. So, my favorite color's  blue, Will is my bestfriend and I have two sisters,'' Mike said, smiling. ''But they're all true, Mike!'' Dustin stated. ''Are they though?'' Mike asked, smirking a little.

The Party kept trying to guess but they didn't get it. ''Give up yet?'' Mike asked the exasperated Party. ''Yes!'' They all answered except Will, who was smiling. Mike's heart was beating fast. Really fast. ''The lie is the second one.'' Mike said. ''What? But Will is your bestfriend!'' Dustin exclaimed. ''Not only is he my bestfriend, he's my boyfriend,'' Mike said, with a small shaky laugh.

''Jesus Christ, how many secrets do you guys have from us?'' Lucas joked while the entire Party laughed. ''I promise, that's the last secret,'' Max assured Dustin and Lucas.  After that, the Party were chatting and laughing as usual. ''To be honest, I never knew Mike would actually be gay,'' Lucas said, at one point at the sleepover. ''Well, I'm bisexual actually. And so what?'' Mike said, kissing the top of Will's head and cuddling him in his arms.

It was near two o' clock by the time the Party went to bed. Mike and Will kept whispering while the other went to sleep. ''I'm proud of you, Mike. Even though, you only came out to Lucas and Dustin, I still am,'' Will whispered to Mike. ''You know, the day Dad died I told my mother. She was proud of me for telling her.'' Mike admitted. Will smiled at his boyfriend and kissed him. Mike kissed him back.

''C'mon let's get to sleep, or we won't wake up in the morning,'' Will whispered. ''Alright. Goodnight, Will.'' Mike whispered. ''Goodnight, Mike.''  Will whispered back and he fell asleep in Mike's arms.

Mike thought he was the luckiest boy in the world to have such an amazing boyfriend like Will. He loved Will so much, he couldn't imagine a world without him. As Mike drifted off to sleep, he thought of Will and him. He thought that nothing would ever come between them. Ever.

But oh, just how wrong he was about that. . .
