Hiding

*Lessos POV*

Another sleepless night is all I am in for. I got probably about 10 minutes of sleep before I was woken up by a strange noise, forgetting that the Headmistress of the dark was sleeping on the floor next to me. It sounds like a struggle but she seemed fine today. After the noise continued for a while I decided I should maybe see what was going on. I light a candle and walk over to the woman on the floor. I can see her but she is tossing and turning on the floor. I go to see if she is okay before I am met with a very large, painful looking scar that cascades down her spine. I can hear her panic rising and her body beginning to wake up so I head back to my bed and pretend to be asleep.  As I settle down into my bed I see the woman wake up, panting slightly trying to breathe before she calms herself and lies back down. I think she has fallen back to sleep. 

I watch her throughout the night as she wakes up and falls back asleep over and over again. Poor thing must barely rest. I slowly find my eyes closing as I end up sleeping.

*Your POV*

You wake up and look over to Lesso, you noticed her check on you at night during the moments you woke. Unfortunately you also felt your heartbeat becoming stronger whenever she came close to you. You walked towards the bathroom, looking at Lesso as she slept in her bed, for an evil woman she sure looks like an angel. She began to stir and you rushed into the bathroom. You got dressed into another of your dresses and stood over Lesso for a second before needing to wake her up. ''Morning Lesso, let's not be late shall we?'' She swiped her hand in my direction as if she was batting off a fly. ''I knew you were watching over me last night'' I whisper into her ear which makes the redhead fly awake and get ready inexplicably fast. ''You know nothing'' She hissed at me while her face dawned that red color it had when we first met. I make a kiss face before smirking at her. ''I know enough Lesso.'' I say as I leave her room in search of the ballroom. I enter the ballroom to see the combined schools enjoying breakfast with eachother. I walk over to sit with Dovey and Helios while I wait for Lesso to arrive. She comes storming in 5 minutes later with the same suit that hugged her figure beautifully. The sound of her heels growing faster and louder as she walked towards me and sat down. She shot me this look that could have killed me if I feared her. But I don't fear Lesso, there is something about her that I can't explain. 

After breakfast we said a few words to the students about the upcoming weeks of the school unions. Dovey and Helios gave a lovely heartfelt speech about the students flourishing into their fairytales of light and love while Me and Lesso spoke about eternal doom and gloom of the never and night tales. Lesso shocked me when she placed her hand on my shoulder and I felt a burning in my chest. I quickly moved away from her and continued my speech I felt her jump too as her hand rested for a second. I didn't dare look at Lesso but I heard her cane slam on the floor after I moved. As we dismissed the students I was quick to find somewhere to hide, my body had begun to produce a burning pain in my chest and where my scar was. I quickly dismissed myself with the excuse of wanting to wander the grounds before I ran to an empty classroom and locked myself inside. 

I sat down on the cold stone floor of the room which was decorated with a plethora of torture tools, axes, knives, whips, canes, the lot. I placed my hand to my chest as I attempted to calm myself down, this had never happened before so I didn't know what to do. I hear a few footsteps before I see a red mist shoot at me, without thinking my wings appear in defence, causing me to scream in pain. I managed to look out from the now secure cocoon of my black wings to see him, the one person who doomed my heart and soul for eternity.  ''Stupid little lilith... hiding from herself and everyone again. You will never be like your father, you are a pathetic excuse for the daughter of the devil. Worthless.'' He says as I feel a burning tear stream down my face, leaving a small scar cascading down my left cheek. ''What are you doing here?'' I whisper to him. ''I am back, evil shall reign and we will win, won't we my darling Ignes'' His sharp finger pulls my chin to face his eyes before tracing his finger over the burn of the tear. ''You know what happens when you are weak Ignes, you only hurt yourself'' He laughs before disappearing in a cloud of red smoke once more. I stay curled up amongst my wings which comfort me in a gentle hug before I am drawn from my fear. 

*knock knock* 

''Ignes, what are you doing in there? And why have you locked the door!. open it now!'' I hear Lesso shout at me, boy was she pissed off. ''Give me a minute please'' I practically beg, she can't see me like this or know of the wings. I look at the scar in the mirror of a knife. It will take a while to go away. I close my eyes and imagine a sea of blue water, I'm there just swimming, getting lost in the tranquility of it all. I feel the sharp pain return to my back as my wings retract back into the scar. I let out a scream of pure pain, and not the good kind. ''Ignes!'' Lesso yells this time sounding furious and worried? I don't have time to think before the door is kicked down. ''I swear to god you will pay for that, that was a perfectly good door and-'' She stops when she sees me sitting on the floor, knees to my chest, emotionless. 

*Lessos POV*

I noticed Ignes flinch at my hand on her shoulder, I felt a jolt of electricity shoot through my body as my hand met her. She was quick to run off saying she wanted to 'explore the grounds' yeah right. I was quick to follow her, I managed to stay silent when I approached the doom room. I tried to enter but the door was locked, the only person that should be locking that door is me. I was furious but before I could scald her for it I could hear a scream, a scream that only comes from true pain, heartbreaking pain and not a nice kind. I was, dare I say worried? for the woman. I broke the door down to see her sat on the floor, no emotion but she looked as if she was far in her thoughts. I walk and begin to kneel beside her, I gently placed my hand on her back which seemed to make her flinch away, she moved towards the darkest corner of the room, hiding from me I decide it was best she got time to recover from the pain. ''Ignes? What is going on?'' 

*Your POV*

You sit in the corner, shaking slightly trying to show no weakness as you see Lesso standing in the corner. ''what is going on'' was all I heard as I stayed in the corner using my arms to hold myself from falling apart. It had been a long time since my body had used my wings I forgot how much energy they took up, I found my body slowly giving in to the exhaustion as I closed my eyes hoping it would all go away.
