You saved me

''Ignes!? Oh my- LESSO, COME HERE QUICK!'' I scream, hoping Lesso could hear...

*Lesso's POV*

My heart dropped. I shot out of bed and ran down the stairs towards the hall, not caring about my pain or the fact I was in pyjamas.

I felt a little jolt in my heart, worry, panic, fear? It was something.

I sprinted into the hall and over to Dovey and Ignes. ''What!? What happened!?'' I shout out of breath. I see a tear fall from Doveys face, but she was smiling? ''Dovey, this is no time to smil-''

''Just... come here.'' Dovey says, wiping a tear from her eye. I sit down next to Ignes and Dovey places Ignes's hand in mine. ''Dovey I can't do this again, I can't say goodby-''

I felt a hand squeeze mine. I am speechless but my mouth dropped open. ''I-wh-I-HUH?!'' I am so confused, she is dead it is impossible...

''Lesso, your ring'' Dovey said with her voice now shaking, Dovey had always admired my rings but I don't see the need to bring them up now.

''Dovey please not now, if you want them can you pick a more appropriate ti...'' ''Holy shit'' I whisper.

The 2 rings that sat stacked on my ring finger, there was something different. The heart that was once half was now whole, the diamond that was broken had become repaired and began to glow as it did when I first got it.

''How is that possible, it was broken...'' I say in disbelief, I had never taken those rings off. so how had they changed? My thoughts were suddenly interrupted. 

*your POV*

I was finally back in the land of the living. I could feel my chest, my heart beating properly and a strange twang in my heart caused me to groan and place my hand on my chest. 

''Shit that hurts'' I say, opening my eyes to see a very worried Dovey and Lesso looked exhausted. 

''Ignes? you are alive! oh my god thank you thank you!!!!'' Lesso cries as she pulls me into a hug. 

''I am? I am!'' I shout. ''My chest hurts and my head'' I say smiling lightly but showing discomfort. ''You hit your head pretty hard when you fell'' Dovey chimes in. 

''Dovey, I am so sorry, the ball... I ruined it'' Dovey just chuckles. ''My dear you didn't ruin it, first of all the ball finished just before you collapsed and second, we managed to get the students out quickly so they are none the wiser'' 

''Thankfully. Um, Lesso I need to talk to you in private please...'' I say while looking into the eyes of the Dean. 

''I will leave you both to it, Lesso I trust you will take care of Ignes as she recovers'' Dovey smiled at me and gave me a hug before heading out of the hall. 

''Ignes what's wrong, I can see the cogs turning in that head of yours'' Lesso says trying to make light of the situation. 

''I heard you talking about rings... can I see them, I saw something while I was gone and if it is true then I need to be honest with you'' I say, remembering Rafal in the forest giving Lesso the rings/my heart and soul. 

''Well, yes. You see I kissed you again thinking it would be the last time I could ever hold you again and... well I left Dovey with you as I got into different clothes that didn't have your blood on them'' She chuckles but I can see she is holding back painful tears. 

''And I wasn't paying attention to anything other than my heart shattering and that is when I heard Dovey screaming for me to come back down and now... here we are. The rings have changed but I don't know how because they haven't left my hands'' 

I take her hand in mine, I see the heart ring and the glowing white crystal. I just let out a gasp. 

''Lesso... I left you, for a moment I was back with my dad who is... well... dead and I left your hands when you went to go and get changed...'' I look back into Lesso's eyes, trying to find a hint that she understood. 

''You did, but I have had these rings for 15+ year-'' 

''15+ years and Rafal gave you them in the forest right?'' I cut her off. 

Her eyes went wide as she realised what it meant... the curse, rafal... 

''Leo... you- you saved me'' I say crying ridiculously hard as Lesso cries too. 

''And I would do it a thousand times again, Lillith... I love you, please never ever leave me again!'' Lesso says she places two hands on my cheeks and stares into my eyes.  

I could easily get lost in her eyes but now her eyes looked more like home, comfort, safety,love. 

I lean in and kiss Leo. ''You will never lose me, I have always been with you, you have carried me with you and you always will, I love you too Leonora Lesso'' I smile at her. Wiping a tear from her eye. The curse was broken, my tears no longer burned. 

''Let's get you some rest, it's been a rough day for us both'' 

I just nod as Lesso helps me to stand up, still a bit unsteady on my feet but she holds me by my waist. 

We make our way out of the hall but before we leave we turn around to look at the hall before it returns to normal. and as we look I notice something. ''Lesso, can we please do one thing before we leave?'' I had thought of an idea.

Lesso looked back at me and smiled. ''Okay? What did you want to d-'' 

Before she could finish I had re-lit the candles and with a snap of my fingers music had started playing, not just any music... ''Chasing cars... Ignes I-'' 

''Leonora Lesso, will you dance with me, please'' I say as I feel my strength returning. 

''I would be delighted to Lillith Ignes'' 

I took Leonora's hand and led her back to the centre of the ballroom. Just like before, my hand was on her waist and her shoulder, her hands were placed the same way on me.  We held each other closer than before, for once the fear of losing each other forever was gone, we could just exist. 

''we'll do it all, everything, on our own'' 

We don't need, anything, or anyone'' 

We sing to each other, getting lost within each other's embrace and eyes. 

We sway to the music, footsteps moving around the ballroom floor, just me and Lesso. 

''If I lay here, if I just lay here''

''Would you lie with me and just forget the world'' 

The song begins to fade and we are just staring at each other, we have found each other after so long... now we were here, in this ballroom together after she saved me. 

''Igns, I-'' 

''SHhhhh don't say another word'' I say as I pulled her in to kiss me, the kiss was full of love relief and love, every emotion that had been felt in the night had been mixed into this kiss. 

''Leo, look'' I say as I point to the night sky she created. 

''A shooting star'' Lesso said with a teary smile

''Make a wish Leo'' 

Lesso closed her eyes and took a deep breath in and out before reopening them. 

I do the same but we can't say our wishes otherwise they won't come true. 

''Now let's go to bed and get some rest... I am shattered'' I say to Lesso. 

''You have had a lot of time to sleep darling'' Lesso laughs at me. 

''But this time you are here'' I say as I grab her hand and lead her to bed. 

I spent the night in the arms of the woman that I loved more than life... my fox... my leonora...
