Calm before the storm

We woke up at 8, well Lesso did, I didn't dare sleep. Thankfully with no sign of rafal about I can begin training with Lesso. The last time I fought was a long time ago, with Rafal, only we didn't quite kill him clearly, alongside my mother and father we fought rafal, with our fire magic and even my mothers twisted magic wasn't enough, she suffered the same fate I was destined for, a lost soul with nowhere to go. He killed her and I will never forget the devilosh look on his face, for a man who was supposed to be the future keeper of souls before I came along he sure wasn't happy about my arrival. we fought him off as best we could with the help of some other people and yet he still ended up taking part of me with him. 

''Helloooooo, world to Ignes'' I hear Lesso trying to wake me from whatever space I was in. ''Hello, Lesso'' I smile, trying to forget the events that took place earlier in the night. ''Ready to train up?'' She held her hand up to get me out of bed. ''mmhm'' I follow her down to the doom room after we get into our staff clothes. ''There are a lot of things I do not know about you Inges, but I do need to know if you have used your magic properly before, as in really channeled it'' She says walking around the room. ''Yes, I used to use my magic a lot, practice with fire magic but then one day I had to use it all and it scarred me, my back, the same day I used my powers to protect my family, was the same day I got my scar on my back.'' ''Okay, I want you to go back to you training, show me how you trained'' With that you begun to summon little glowing fireballs in our hand, making them bounce off the walls before dissapearing within contact of the floor. ''good job, what else can you do?'' You moved your head in different directions, making a phoenix rise from your chest, the phoenix however had broken wings, it would fly but not too great, crashing into a few things before returning to your chest. Lesso looked at the phoenix with sadness, broken wings, representative of the owner. ''We will make  the phoenix stronger again I promise, now I want you to channel that emotion you felt that day and apply it to your fire, think about it and lets see what we are working with.''

The training went on for about 20 minutes before my vision was clouded, ''Lesso I can't see properly''  She took a step back as I shut my eyes, I saw my mother lying helplessly on the floor while Rafal delivered the final piece of magic that would end her existence. I could feel the burning sensation in my hands, legs, everywhere that was safe. I then heard Rafals voice in my head saying he would kill Lesso, and everything he said about my mother. The burning grew stronger and something snapped in me. ''Lesso get out of the room now!'' You shouted as you opened your eyes and met your eyes with Lessos. Now Lessos eyes were met with not your usual blue eyes but rather red, burning red just like the flame building within your hand. ''Lesso I don't want to hurt you, leave!'' 

I saw her go to leave out the door and she got half way out the door before the power took over, fire ripping through my body, flames everywhere but my chest. I push my hands away in hopes of using fire to paint the room with the glowing embers, my fire won't burn anything unless I will it too. I swung my hand not realising where I had pointed my hand. I heard the door slam followed by the sound of something colliding with the floor, or should I say someone. ''Shit, Lesso!'' I shout as I feel the anger leaves my body, my eyes return to the cool watery blue they were before as I ran to the door, I opened the slightly damaged door to see Lesso on the ground trying to get up. ''Lesso I am so sorry I didn't mean to ! are you okay?!'' You give her a hand to stand up. She stands looking at you, astonished by your power and a little worried about your control. ''I am fine, we will continue this tomorrow and that is the third damn door you have broken now'' She says with a chuckle looking at the cracked door. ''I will replace the door too... sorryyyyyyyy''  You say while you sway your body and screw your face up, genuinely sorry about the door situation. 

You both walk into the grand hall where the other teachers sat, they know rafal may well return and they have their own ideas and plan of what to do when it happens but they had the never and evers ball comming up soon so they were also focused on that. ''I think we should have a theme'' Dovey says as she looks at us both taking our seats. ''I bet the evers couldn't dress as nevers and vice versa for the ball '' Lesso says smiling at the idea of torturing both sides of the schools. ''No, they wouldn't lesso, how about a dove and raven theme instead?'' I say trying to poke fun at our little nicknames as I see Lesso roll her eyes. ''What a great idea Ignes!'' Dovey smiles and the teachers agree on the theme for the ball. We spent the rest of the time planning the event, me and Lesso were told we couldn't decorate which we were happy about. I could focus on my outfit and Lesso could keep doing my practices for my magic, just away from any doors... 

Me and Lesso practiced my powers and defending skills every night that week in the doom room, as time went on using my powers became less draining, I was able to control my temper and no more broken doors!
