Dancing with the devil

The kiss of death

After a moment I pulled away. ''Lesso I- I...'' I was cut off by another kiss.

What I forgot however was how much of a dangerous position I had just put both of us in...

I stood in shock for a while, remembering the curse, remembering Rafal, remembering the pain...  ''Lesso, I. I am so sorry'' I whisper before heading towards the stage and go behind the curtain so as to not draw attention to the situation.

I can hear Lesso's footsteps behind me as I make my way to the stage, walking becoming an issue. I can also hear a 2nd set of footsteps, the clicks of an ever, Dovey. 

I feel my breathing go uneven and find it hard to take a breath in. I have had panic attacks but this is something else. 

''Ignes, why are you sorry? I have never been more sure of anything my whole life, I am falling for you'' Lesso says as she walks behind me. 

I try to respond but I can't speak, the pain in my chest is becoming excruciating. Thankfully I am hidden away from the students who are dancing to the final song of the night. 

''I- I- L,lesso-'' I just manage to get out before a shooting pain hits my chest and I see black, I could just hear a very far away scream before a succomme to the darkness. 

*Lessos POV*

She kissed me then I guess she panicked, I followed her, I am certain that I am in love with this woman, the kiss was electric even if it was quick. 

I followed her and then Dovey joined after noticing Ignes stumbling a bit, holding her chest. Something was horribly wrong. She could barely say my name before she just dropped without warning. Her head hit off the concrete floor and Dovey screamed. 

''Woah, Ignes! Can you hear me? Ignes open your eyes, come on, let me see those bright blue eyes... please'' I say as I kneel by the woman on the floor, she was white and cold. ''Lilly please wake up!'' I say as I shake her a little beginning to panic as I think about the curse she told me about. Shit!

Dovey quickly thinks of something and walks back out into the ball as the song finished. ''evers and nevers, the ball has finished, thank you all for coming along, please follow professor Helios outside and head to your dorms, thank you!'' 

She quickly came back after seeing all the students leave the hall. ''How is she?'' Dovey says as she watches, waiting. 

''She hasn't woken up, I- I don't think she is breathing!'' I say as I notice that her chest has stopped moving. I hear Dovey gasp. ''Help me move her and I will see what we can do!'' Dovey says, placing a hand on my shoulder and helping me lift her body and bring it to the centre of the now cleared hall. 

I just stand back, helpless and sobbing, I have killed Lilly. She told me and I didn't think, now she is dead. Oh my god! 

''Lesso, she... I think we might need to lock this room, it isn't looking good.'' Dovey is now crying just as much as I am. I use my power to lock all the doors and black out any windows.  I run to Ignes' body and lie down next to her, gently caressing her cheek while I let the tears fall. ''You can die on me, I love you!'' 

*No ones POV*

As Lady Lesso cried tears of sorrow, one of those tears landed on Ignes' face, intertwining with the tear that had just left Ignes' eye, the power of love maybe wouldn't be enough to save her...
