Chapter 21. The book is almost over. I know I’ve said that a lot in the past chapters, but it makes me happy knowing that I have a finished book. Enjoy you guys ^^ <3

“But I feel fine!” he whined.
“This is your last checkup I promise” I replied.
“Nothing hurts anymore, I don’t need to see the doctor again” he argued.
I let out an exasperated sigh “We still need to be sure, if you ever want to get back on tour, we need to check”
“Fine” he grumbled.
We walked into the doctor’s office. The place smelt like bleach, and it bothered my nose. I looked at the clock; 3.50 we got here just in time. We sat in the waiting room for the remaining 10 minutes. And sure enough at 4:00 sharp the door opened and a nurse came out.
“Ashley Purdy?” she asked as she looked down at the name sheet. We both sat up and walked to the door. “Doctor Linch is ready to see you” she gave a small smile.
We sat in the cramped examining room for another 15 minutes. The clock ticked noisily as we sat, we made no conversation. The noise that filled my mind was Ashley’s steady breathing and the steady click of the clock. Then Doctor Linch walked in with a wide smile.
“Hello again Mr. Purdy”
“Hey Doctor Linch” he responded with little emotion.
“Hey,” he laughed “Just be glad this is the last time you’ll have to see me”
“I just never liked doctors” Ashley responded “It has nothing to do with you in general”
“Well, let’s make this visit short then” Dr. Linch said with a smile. “Your ribs are still healing nicely, no other damage done” he took out a stethoscope and listened to Ashley’s heart “Heart seems fine, no damage done from the cardiac arrest” he took out a small light and shined it into Ashley’s eyes “Pupils are dilated, no damage to retina or sight” as he made all the actions he checked it off on a list “Experiencing any difficulties with anything Ashley?”
“Extreme activity, like my elliptical I use to work out, it becomes hard to breathe” Ashley answered “My head starts to spin too”
“Seems normal since your ribs are still healing” Dr. Linch replied. “Well, everything checks out” he smiled and my heart slowed down to a normal pace “Just take it easy, know your limits. Don’t push yourself too hard because you still need to heal”
“Righty-oh” Ashley smiled.
“Well” Dr. Linch let out a satisfied sigh “I’m done here, you’re free to go. Any troubles in the near future just come in and we’ll check it out”
“Thank you Doctor Linch” I smiled.
“Have a good day you two” he said, and then he walked out the door.
“See?” I looked at Ashley “Quick and painless”
“Can we go home now?” he asked. He had something planned, I just knew it.
“Yea, we can go home” I laughed.

We walked into the silent apartment; it seemed to come alive as we stepped in. Tokyo and Killer ran around our feet, chasing one another. I let out a small chuckle and walked to the back room. I changed into a pair of pajama shorts and a grey tank top, then placing my hair into a loose pony tail. Ashley was on the couch scrolling through channels. I stepped in front of him with my hands on my hips.
