The drivers stepped off the stage. Sam raced after Bucky. "Woah woah... you got a lady you interested in?"

Bucky looked at him and chuckled. "Sure?" He said as he walked next to him. Sam started bugging him for information, some sort of detail, anything!

"I'm not telling you anything." Bucky said with a chuckle as the two walked over to Sam's family. Darlene immediately rushed over to Bucky and checked his bruise.

"Are you okay? Ah... Sam do you have any of that ointment I gave you?" She said worryingly. Bucky as caught off guard by the gentleness.

Sarah walked over. "You alright Bucky? Sorry we couldn't step in yesterday..."

"It's okay, really.." Bucky said. Darlene grabbed a chair and motioned for him to sit down. Bucky listened and stayed quietly. "Ah kid... you got a cut on your face." She said.

"I do?" Bucky said. She nodded as she motioned for Sam to give her a bandage. She applied the ointment and then got the bandage ready.

Sam could tell this was rather surprising to Bucky.

Eventually, Sam's mother finished and nodded. "There you go. That'll heal right up." She said. Bucky stood up and looked at her and smiled.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome sweetheart. If you need anything just let us know. We got you." She said. Bucky looked at Sam like he didn't know what to say. He sat back down and held his head.

Sam walked over to him. "You okay?" Sam saw a tear in his eyes.

"It's so bizarre how different your family is from mine..." he said. Sam looked concerned.

"Sorry.." he got up and headed to the restroom. Sam stayed with his family and rubbed his neck.

"Did I do something wrong?!" Darlene said panicking. Sam shook his head and sighed. "Something happened this morning probably. It's probably a shock seeing our family and then having to deal with his." Sam said

"Oh..." his mother said.

As she said that, Natasha walked over. "Hey Sam."

"Ah Nat! Hey!" He Said. "Haven't seen you in awhile."

"Heh, yeah. I'm avoiding his family. They hate me." She said as she crossed her arms.

"Really? Why?" Sarah said. Natasha looked at her. "They think I screwed him up, and just... w lot of things.

Bucky sat in a stall taking deep breaths. He got up, washed his hands. And walked out. He saw that they all went to go get food.

Bucky had told his family about the brunch, so he headed up to the dining hall. He walked over to his table and saw that his family wasn't there.

He saw their names on name cards. He couldn't believe they couldn't even show up for free food. He shook his head and sat down at his name card.

He was about to order when he felt a small hand tap his shoulder. He turned and saw AJ and Cass.

"Oh hey boys. Everything okay?" He asked Then as he turned towards them.

"Where's your family?"'AJ asked. Bucky chuckled and rubbed his neck. "I think they forgot to come have brunch with me."
He said.

"Well, we have a seat open at ours. You'll be next to Sam as well so that if we annoy you, you can talk to him!" Cass said.

"That's okay guys, I don't want to intrude in on your family breakfast." AJ and Cass grabbed his hands. "With how much Sam talks about you, you're pretty much family."

Bucky just laughed at that and sighed. He saw two little boys in front of him who really wanted him to come with them. He sighed and held their hands.

"Alright then!" The boys cheered and walked him over to the table, holding his hands.

When they got close to the table, Darlene saw the boys dragging Bucky over. "Boys! Leave him alone.... He's probably eating with his family!"

"Wait! Grandma, there wasn't anyone at his table. He was by himself, so we invited him since we had an extra chair." They said.

Bucky looked at them. "I can leave you all alone. I know it's a family break-"

"With how much Sam talks about you, you're family at this point. Take a seat, Bucky." Sam's dad said. Bucky looked at Darlene who just nodded.

Bucky took a seat and sat next to Sam. Sam sighed. "Guys, I don't talk about him all the time."

"Oh? Yesterday we were gushing over how amazing it was racing with him, and being around him, and some other things." Sarah said as she ate some fruit.

Sam argued with Sarah across the table. The boys were showing Bucky some of the drawings of cars they did. Bucky smiled and showed them a picture of his car for them to draw.

He smiled softly listening to the positivity that this family radiated. He sat up and ate some of his breakfast.

"Sorry about the arguing." Sam said with a chuckled. Bucky looked at him. "Don't apologize... this is nice." He said with a chuckle.

Sam saw the life come back to Bucky and nodded. "I'll take your word for it."

Sarah suddenly laughed as she looked at her phone. Darlene looked at her.

Sarah showed her mother the phone. "Oh that photo looks so good! Why're your laughing?" She said.

"Reminds me of Cinderella." She said. Darlene smiled softly and nodded. "I agree."

"What reminds you of Cinderella?" Sam said as he sipped some juice. Bucky looked at his phone and chuckled.

He showed Sam his phone. It was the picture from the party when Sam missed a step and Bucky caught him.

"Looks good." Sam said. Bucky scrolled through the pictures at the party and stumbled upon a picture of the two dancing together. Sam saw the picture and thought that was the most beautiful picture he had seen.

Bucky saved the photo and turned his phone off. Sam saw that he saved it and chuckled to himself.

"why're your laughing?" Bucky asked him with a soft smile.

"Ah... no reason."
