Over the next week, Bucky was watching Natasha at her testing. They were trying out a new car design.

She had Bucky there. He was watching her race and making sure he was pointing out the errors. Maria didn't want him there but at the moment he didn't care.

She finished and pulled up to the paddock. "Slow." Bucky said as she took her helmet off. She looked at him shocked. "Those are some of my fastest scores!?" She said.

"Fast, to you. But are they fast compared to Clara and I?" He said as he grabbed and iPad with her stats. He circled some points. "You need to adjust in these areas."

"So... the entire track."

"Yes."

She took a deep breath and looked at him. "Where do I start?"

"Your braking. It needs to be consistent, and it needs to show a pattern that only makes sense to you. Either brake early or brake late." He said as he looked at her.

"I assume braking later is better?"

"Yes. It gives you more momentum and places you in front of whoever was in front of you." Bucky said as he showed her a video of one of his races in his youth.

She watched and saw how he braked later on Sam and ended up gaining two positions. "It's a technique that once mastered, you will be unstoppable against those who don't know."

"But you know?" She said.

"Yes. I do, but right now you need to focus on beating Clara who has been in second or first as of late." He said as he took the iPad back.

"I want you to go out there and brake late until you figure out how to get through that turn properly without spinning off." He said as he motioned her to get back to her car

She nodded and pulled her gear back on and jumped into the car.

They were at the track for maybe four hours until she figured out her brakes for every turn. Bucky jumped on her radios. "Good. And if you can do it here, you can do it anywhere." He said as he watched her new time come up.

She was faster.

"Good..." he said to himself.

He watched her car race by faster than he had ever seen. He smirked and looked at Maria who looked shocked. "What have you created?" Maria asked.

"Oh I didn't create anything. I just taught her one trick." He said as he walked over to her car as it parked. "How was that?" She asked.

"Fantastic. Still a bit sloppy, but much better." Bucky said as he checked marked some things.

"Get to the hotel, rest up, see you tomorrow."

The following day appeared. Bucky was showing her better overtaking techniques on the simulator. "Alright, now that I've showed them to you, I want you to complete this race on the sim, and overtake as far as you can in the grid from last."

She looked at him surprised. "Last?"

"You never know when you will need to fight for a win... I have a few times, so be ready."he said as he started the simulator.

The first try, she only improved about 4 positions.

The second, 6 positions.

The third try, 8 positions.

"Good. Make sure not to overcorrect. You can take people out and get penalties from that. Be careful. Understand?" He said as he stood behind her.

"Yes."

He started the simulator.

By the end of the day, Natasha was so tired. Bucky looked over her stats. "Best position gained today, 6th. Impressive." He said as he looked at Maria.

"My question for you it's why didn't you do any of this for her?" He asked. Maria said. "I didn't know."

"Will, then you shouldn't be a team principal. Also, there's useless parts on her car that are literally contributing nothing. Ask they're doing is adding extra weight and drag. Get rid of them." He said handing her the files of the pieces.

Natasha walked out with Bucky next to her. They walked by the track. She had her hands in her pockets. "Thanks..." she said.

"No problem." He said as he smiled to himself. "Why do.. you want me to beat you so bad?" She said. Bucky chuckled and sighed.

He wouldn't tell her the real reason now. "Well... because I want a challenge." He said as he looked at her lovingly. She just chuckled and sighed.

"I'll be using your own techniques against you." She said.

"That's fine. I'll make new ones on the spot. We'll see how well to deal with that." He teased. She just laughed and smiled.

"That's what I figured... I mean... you are the greatest in the world." She said as she fiddled with the necklace he gave her for her birthday.

"Greatest in the world huh?" He said with a smile. He never regarded himself the greatest, but when his daughter says it, it must be true.

"Yes! With your career, your feats, what you've accomplished, you really are the greatest of all time." She said starting to ramble more as to why he was. He listened and glanced at her.

He saw her little self cheering for him and Sam on the track. He blinked and there was his grown little girl. Here she was, being the light of his world.

"... and that's why you're the greatest of all time!" She said finishing her proclamation. He simply nodded and chuckled. "If you say I'm the greatest of all time, I guess you're."

After Bucky dropped her off at her hotel room. He walked into his room and dropped his bag on the floor and just closed good eyes tiredly.

Sam was at a meeting so he just relaxed alone. He pulled his shoes off and laid down on the couch thinking about Natashas racing.
