A few days later, Bucky went to the hospital and got his bandages removed, and was cleared to race again.

Bucky walked out into the waiting room where almost the entire Wilson family was waiting. He gave them all a thumbs up.

The family sighed in relief. "Oh thank god..." Sam said as he walked over to him. Bucky nodded in agreement.

"I was scared I was gonna be told to sit out for the rest of the season." Bucky said as everyone else walked over.

Darlene sighed. "Hope this doesn't happen to you again. You can't afford another crash." She said.

"It won't. I won't let it." Bucky said.

Sarah nodded. "Well! We have to get ready to head to the next raceway in Azerbaijan." Sarah says as she looked at her phone.

Sam nodded. "We need to head back and pack them."

Bucky suddenly realized he's been with the Wilson family for about a week now. "Oh dang..." he said. He realized his family hasn't come to check on him or call him at least once to see how he was doing.

He frowned slightly at that. Sam looked at him. "Bucky? You okay?"

"Yeah... yeah I'm fine..." Bucky said. He just picked up his phone and stepped away from the Wilson's and called his mother.

"Hello? Bucky?" She said. Bucky frowned.

"I'm coming over to the room to pack up my stuff. We're heading to the next track." He said bluntly.

"Oh! Okay. Are you okay?" She said.

"Now you care? When I call?" He said. She was silent.

"I didn't... I didn't want to bother you." She said. Bucky scoffed and hung up. He gripped his phone and felt tears start to fill his eyes but he took a deep breath and then walked back over to the Wilson's.

"Alright. I need to stop by my parents hotel room, get my stuff, and then I'll see y'all in Azerbaijan." Bucky said with a tired smile. He already felt so drained having to go see his family.

"I can come help you pack," Sam said. Bucky was going to tell him he didn't need his help... but he needed some support to deal with his father.

"If you can that would be amazing." Bucky said. Sam looked at his Mom.

"Go ahead Sammy, we we'll see you soon." She kissed his cheek and waved bye to the both of them as they headed on out.

Sam looked at Bucky and smiled softly. "Excited to be getting back to the track?" Sam said. Bucky smiled softly and nodded.

"Yeah."

The two eventually made it to Buckys family room. He sighed and unlocked the door. As he did, he heard a groan.

"Oh he's back..." his father said. Bucky frowned and walked past him with Sam to his room. Rebecca followed them into the room.

"Bucky where have you been?!" She said annoyed. Bucky ignored her and started packing. Sam took a step back to let the two talk.

"Bucky!? James!" She yelled. Bucky stopped and looked at her. "I've been with the Wilson's. Recovering from my crash? Couldn't even ask how I was doing first?"  Bucky said as he grabbed some more things.

"I'm sorry... I just haven't seen you in a week. You left me here!" She said. Bucky chuckled and looked at her.

"No I didn't. You are a grown adult, you're 23! You can leave! They actually love you so you can go as you please!" Bucky said as he grabbed some other clothes.

She clenched her fists.

"Couldn't even come see me in the hospital. I make it to all your big events and I'm there when you need me but can even show up when I got ran into an flipped into a wall?" He said as he looked at her.

Sam watched silently.

Bucky just shook his head and packed everything up and put them by the door. Bucky heard his dad starting to get angry. Bucky didn't want Sam to be here to deal with his father wrath.

He turned and looked at Sam. "Well... I got it all taken care of." Sam looked at him.

"Will you be okay?" Sam asked him quietly. Sam looked at him concerned. Bucky didn't want him to leave. "I..." he glanced at his father.

His father was just waiting for Sam to leave so he could blow up at Bucky. Bucky looked at Sam and shook his head.

Sam gently took Bucks hand into his and quietly walked out of the room with him. "Sam?" Sam simply took him to the lobby, brought him to the cafe and sat down.

Bucky looked at him confused. "We're going to hang out here in this cafe." Sam said. Bucky just sat down silently.

Sam glanced at him. "Bucky..."

Bucky looked at Sam. "Yeah?"

"Let me know if I'm overstepping. If I am stop me right away." Sam said as he cleared his throat. Bucky waited for the question

"Why is your father abusive to you and not your sister?" Sam asked. Bucky rubbed his neck and looked at Sam but back down at his hands.

He had never ever admitted to anyone in a long long time his deepest secret. Bucky looked at Sam.

Sam sat there, not forcing an answer from
Him. "You don't have to answer Bucky." Sam said with a soft smile.

Bucky trusted Sam with his life. He knew Sam would never tell the world about his business... he was just scared.

Suddenly his father appeared in his mind screaming and yelling at him. He teared up until he felt someone hold his hand.

He looked up and saw Sam holding his hand protectively. "You okay?"

Bucky nodded slightly. He took a deep breath and look at Sam. "I'm... um... well, my father is the way he is to me because of something I had told him. He got very angry and had kicked me out of the house with no hesitation."

"What did you tell him?" Sam asked.

Bucky looked at him and sighed.

"I told him I had a crush on a boy."
