Bucky's mother tried to get her husband to talk to her son, but he didn't want to. Bucky didn't care at this point.

Buckys mother sighed and looked at her son. "I'm proud of you. You recovered amazingly out. You truly are a fantastic racer." She said with pure pride.

Bucky had never heard this from her. "Thank you mom..." he said a bit surprised. She kissed his head and sighed.

Rebecca nodded and smiled. "Good job. Now, mom and I are gonna get some dinner. See you later?" She said.

Bucky nodded.

Rebecca and Winnifred waved as the father followed behind them.

Bucky was rather surprised by this behavior. He smiled softly and chuckled.

"Well, that was fun. I'll leave you all be." Bucky said as he grabbed his bag. Sam looked at him. "Hey Bucky, my family is going out to eat tonight, and everyone has their own table, I don't have anyone with me. Wanna come?" Sam said.

Darlene turned and smiled. Everyone was excited.

"I don't wanna intrude." Bucky said. Darlene cleared her throat. "You won't be. You see, I'll be eating with my husband, Sarah with her kids and then Sam." She said.

Bucky looked at Natasha. Natasha looked at him. "Do your thing. I have a date tonight." She said.

"With who?!" Bucky asked.

"None of your business." She said as she smirked. She walked over to him. "Go have fun Barnes." She patted his shoulder and then walked out.

Bucky looked at them. "I guess I can join you guys." Everyone cheered.

"Wonderful! There's a dress code, it is formal. See you there!" Darlene said excitedly as she walked out. Everyone walked out leaving Sam and Bucky.

Sam just chuckled and looked at him. "Thanks for coming along. I appreciate it." Sam said with a soft smile.

Bucky nodded and looked at him. "It's no problem. Where do I need to be, and what time?"

Sam gave him the address and the time. Bucky nodded. "I'll be there on time, and I will look good."

"See you then." Sam walked out following his family.

Bucky started to walk out to his car when he saw Steve standing by it. "What do you want Steve..." Bucky said.

Steve looked at him. "Hey..." he sighed and looked at him. "I just wanted to say congrats."

"Now you can say it when the cameras aren't on you?" Bucky said he unlocked his car. "I was kinda shocked after the race, damn..." Steve said.

"Fine." Bucky said as he put his bag in the truck. Steve watched Bucky slightly, noticing he was in a hurry.

"Where are you going?" Steve asked. Bucky sighed and looked at him. "I'm going to go eat with Sam."

Steve raised a brow. "Are you dating him?" Bucky looked at him and shook his head. "No... and why do you care?"

"Last I checked, you haven't come out to the masses. Do you know the consequences of your popularity in some locations if you come out?" Steve said annoyed.

"I don't care Steve... and that's my business. Now, I have somewhere to be, unlike you." Bucky said as he got into his car and drove away.

Steve chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Oh he is something. To bad he's crashing tomorrow." He glared at the car as it pulled away and walked to his car.

Bucky had quickly pulled on a suit, fixed his hair, and then headed to the restaurant. He walked in and checked in.

He walked around until he saw Sam motioning him over. He smiled softly and walked over. He sat down. "Nice place your family picked out." Bucky said.

Sam chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, it's nice. They were very adamant about it." Sam said.

"I hope you don't mind me ordering champagne?" Sam said. Bucky shook his head. "I don't mind at all." He said as he held the glass and sipped on it.

Sam noticed him wearing the same rings from the party awhile ago, and he knew Bucky did that on purpose.

"Nice rings." Sam said as he looked at the menu. Bucky smirked slightly as he looked at the menu.

"Thank you." Bucky said. "I thought you'd might like them." He said as he read through the orders.

Sam glanced at him. Bucky felt eyes on him. He looked up and met Sam's. "See something you like?" Bucky said teasingly.

Sam rolled his eyes and chuckled. "I actually like looking at this menu. Lots of good options." Bucky nodded in agreement.

"Well, I know what I'm getting". Bucky said as he closed his menu. Sam nodded as he closed his. "Same."

Sam met Bucky's gaze. Bucky sat up and cleared his throat. Sam made him nervous. "So, Wilson, tell me why aren't you in a relationship?"

"I haven't found someone who is truly my type in awhile. But, as of late a gentleman I met at the track has caught my eye." Bucky nodded. "Nice nice. Is he kind to you, does he treat you well?" Bucky asked with a hint of seriousness in his voice.

Sam nodded as a soft smile went across his face. "Very kind. He worries about me all the time, even when he's not doing well himself."

Bucky smiled softly at that. "It's good he's kind." Sam leaned forward and looked at him.

"How's things with that girl you spoke about at the interview?" Sam asked curiously. Bucky chuckled and thought about it.

"Well... they been busy, being good at their job. They contacted me right after the race asking me if I was okay. It was a surprise considering how much she had going on that day." He said.
Sam looked excited about this information. But then there was some confusion on his face.

"Have you asked her out" Sam asked as he sipped his champagne.

Bucky thought it and chuckled. "Nope."

"What?! Why?" Sam said. Bucky looked at Sam and smiled softly.

"I'm trying to catch up to them..."
