When the influential Mingyu strolled through the emergency room with a beautiful woman in his arms, the nurses and doctors quickly got into action. When he first walked into the hospital, he was already garnering attention.

One would be living underneath a rock to not know who the notorious Mingyu was. They didn't need to be told twice before rushing Lisa into a VVIP room.

She was quickly diagnosed to have high fever. She was connected to an IV drip and the nurses carefully watched over her, while Mingyu paced the room.

He didn't expect her to instantly burn up with fever, and one that was higher than normal. What was the cause of it? He cursed under his breath when he realized it might've been because he allowed her outside for too long. But it seemed like she was already heating up before she walked outside. When he held her by the bathroom, her body was already oddly warm.

He stopped pacing when the pieces fell into place. His long fingers curled into a tight, pale fist. It must've been the wine that Taehyung poured onto her. She was on the floor for God knows how long. Knowing Taehyung, he must've planned the entire ordeal and had gotten some spoiled wine in advance.

But a simple case of being doused with wine shouldn't have been the cause of such an intense fever...What else could it be? Mingyu walked over to the unconscious Lisa. He brushed her short fringe aside and tucked her tighter into the bed.

"Mr. Kim, are you her guardian?" A doctor with a clipboard asked.

Mingyu nodded.

Usually, doctors would ask for some sort of proof and question their relationship, but the man wasn't dumb. He recognized the richest man in the country with a simple glance, an expensive watch on his wrist and the undeniably handsome face plastered on magazines.

"Do you remember what she consumed within the past three hours?" The doctor asked, flipping to a page in his clipboard.

"No." Mingyu answered, worriedly staring at Lisa's face.

"Well, an unknown certain drug and bacteria were found in her system. The sudden occurrence of high levels of bacteria attacking her immune system might've overworked her body. The drug found was a type used to curb the immune system in case it attacks foreign substances. The combination of both is very deadly." The doctor frowned at Lisa's odd circumstances.

Was she poisoned by someone? Why? His eyes trailed to the CEO in front of him and he already made conclusions. To attack someone like him, his enemies would need to make a direct hit at the thing he cares the most about.

"Drugs and bacteria?" Mingyu faintly remembered the scent of grapes from her mouth. His gaze darkened. Who would poison Lisa at her own sister's birthday banquet? He would need to investigate this further.

"Yes, but the pills have been flushed out of her system. She would need 2 nights of rest and continuous IV drips during this time, but she should be completely healed within 3 days." The doctor watched Mingyu's expression. One night in the VVIP room was in the tens of thousands, but Mingyu didn't even flinch at the price of the treatment and room.

Mingyu nodded and pulled out his phone. The doctor took it as a cue to leave and did so.

Joshua was halfway done with the report when his phone buzzed again. He groaned and nearly banged his head on the keyboard.

[Yama King: Check the security cameras and see who placed something into Lalisa's drink. She's in a blue dress.]

Joshua wept for his sleep. It seemed he would be up all night long...and not in a good way. Being the one that dug into Lisa's background and identity, he already knew how she looked like.

After receiving a confirmation text from Joshua, Mingyu put his phone away and sat down on the leather couch not far away from Lisa's bed.

He was confused with himself. Why did he care so much about a random and infuriating woman? He sends her a gift and she repays him with something better.

Mingyu thought about the gift war and sighed. He hadn't given her a new gift which meant she was the last person to send one, thus, he was slightly losing to her.

He had hoped becoming her partner at the banquet would be a welcomed gift that she could never return, but Lisa didn't even look happy or excited to have him as her partner. The thought surprised and intrigued him. He rarely brought dates and whoever had this amazing opportunity would instantly be praised by the media.

Didn't Lisa have a bad reputation? Wouldn't she enjoy the gift of fixing it?

Mingyu scowled when he saw the IV drips. It reminded him that she saved his life and he insulted her by throwing a check at her like she was some common prostitute. Just great, he now had one life debt to pay and a gift war to win.
