Chapter 21: Growing Pains

The next morning I realized my nether regions were sore beyond belief. Before Arc took me home yesterday afternoon, he took me many more times in other ways. My exhausted womb had the nerve to spasm at the memory. I giggled with joy as I stretched in my small bed, and then rose to grab a towel for a nice hot shower. Arc said he'd be by at mid-day today and I wanted to be ready when he got here.

As I exited my small cave room, I was happy to find that no one seemed to be up yet, so I was able to walk down the main tunnel to the bathroom in quiet. Before I started the shower, I lit one of the honeysuckle candles that sat on the bathroom counter to the left, as I still preferred to not use lights. When the large room filled with the delicious scent, I removed the pajama shorts and top I’d thrown on the night before. Looking in the mirror above the sink, I found that my eyes were still the same stunning silver as Arcania’s, and the markings on my face hadn’t simply disappeared overnight.

This is who I am now.

As I started the shower water, I laughed to myself at how much had changed in such a short span of time. The old world no longer existed. Arcania, the man I’d dreamed about, was now here. My family had become a bunch of souls that had once overwhelmed me. And I myself seemed to be constantly altering with each new experience.

Even the shower water had changed.

I chuckled as I remembered how long it used to take for it to simply heat to a lukewarm, but now it was toasted by the constant warmth that Earth now radiated. I stepped into one of the three showers with a sigh, closing my eyes under the spray of the fast moving water. It cascaded between my thighs, easing the soreness I felt there. After I finished washing with some of the oatmeal based soap Taylor had created, I stepped out of the calming spray and wrapped myself in one of the big fluffy towels.

A moment of deja vu overtook me as I wiped my hand across the foggy mirror. I gazed at my reflection as the feeling that I'd been here before swept over me. It was just a few months ago that I stood like this in my RV bathroom. My brown eyes no longer existed. My dark curls were pulled into a bun to keep them from getting drenched by shower water, as it was definitely not time for wash day. I grimaced at the idea of having to do the monthly routine anytime soon.

My silver eyes traced the beautiful opalescent writing on my face. Arcania had explained to me that it was Ganiq script, a language used by Spirit and the oldest of the Ascended Masters. The writing on both of our faces roughly translated to ‘two lights, one breath.’ A very apt description if I ever heard one.

I smiled fondly as I slowly removed my towel and gazed at the vessel in the mirror. I had lost some weight in the stomach area during the time that I couldn’t hold any food down, but for the most part, my curves remained beautifully intact. The feeling of my skin being stretched too far over my frame had disappeared entirely, but I could still feel that damage was being done. Though the internal breaking was not painful, it was intense, and I could hear my cells working overtime to renew the fissures that my massive energy was causing. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, as my very skin had an illuminated white glow to it.

My soul's energy had grown tremendously after my union with Arcania, and I wasn’t sure what would happen to my body if the energy continued expanding, but for now I was safe. As long as I kept my energy contained, I would be okay. With a nod to myself, I wrapped the towel tightly around me and made my way back through the still quiet tunnel to my room. Once dressed in a gray, knee-length, bandage dress and black sandals, I ambled into the kitchen to find someone already there.

"Morning, Sienna!" Tallulah was bouncing with excitement.

"Good morning," I glared back.

My best friend was heaping large amounts of my leftovers on her plate, as if she hadn’t eaten a ridiculous amount last night.
