River was heading back to her favorite place here in town, the ice cream shop.
She wanted some delicious ice cream but also wanted to get her mind off of what happened yesterday.

It hurt River to know that's what her mom thought of her, she didn't want to believe it but she heard her own mother say those words.
"I wish I didn't even have a kid."

She smiled lightly when she saw the ice cream shop come into view. River absolutely loved the woman there too, she was the nicest person River has ever met in her 17 years of living.
She was far more nicer than her parents, let me tell you that.

River walked into the small shop and was almost immediately greeted by the woman Rosetta.

"Why hello there again suga! It's nice to see you have come back now" Rosetta said before going up to River and giving her a simple but sweet hug.

"You know I had to see my favorite person Rosetta" River said smiling as they both pulled away from the hug.

"Well it's so wonderful to hear that I'm your favorite person River! That's extremely sweet of you"

River just smiled at the nice woman and sat down at the closest table. Suddenly her smile fainted when she remembered those words her mom had said.

Without even knowing, light tears started falling down River's face making her hide her face with her hands.

"Oh my sweetie, what's wrong my darling?" Rosetta asked concernely.

"Oh it's nothing really Rosetta. It's just that I'm not really feeling well today, that's all"

"Sweetheart you know you can tell me anything you want, okay? I'm always and I mean always hear for you Riv" Rosetta said pulling River in for a hug.

"Well, um, my-, my mom said something I heard that I probably wasn't supposed to hear" River stopped.

"And what was that River?" Rosetta asked urging River to go on.

"She said that she wished she never had me" River said than started crying again, holding onto Rosetta.

"Shh it's going to be okay baby. You are an amazing girl and your mom doesn't know what she's missing. Don't ever think you're not worth it Riv. Because you are, you deserve the world my girl"

"She just doesn't get that I'm hurting for something that happened and she thinks that just because I'm a teenager, I can't feel things. But I do Rosetta, I feel way more than she even knows" River said still holding onto Rosetta. Her tears finally going away.

"Whatever happened River, you don't have to tell me but I can assure you, it doesn't matter if you're young or old, everybody feels things. Everyone does and that's how it is, you're mom doesn't seem to get that but I get it and I'm hear for you Riv. Always will be" she said hugging River once more before getting up from her seat and going back behind the ice cream bar.

"Now let's get you some nice, sweet, and delicious Cotton Candy ice cream, shall we?"

"Yes, I'd love that" River said as her beautiful smile appeared back on her face.
