What is the big deal about Starbucks? I mean, it's just coffee, so why not be obsessed with some random coffee shop instead of Starbucks? And why do all the basic white chicks hang out there? Is there some sort of amazing atmosphere that just draws them in?
Yeah, I do admit, Starbucks is good. I love their caramel frappichinos (I honestly have no idea if I spelled that right...) But I just don't understand the obsession with Starbucks. Like, there are girls in my grade who won't drink any coffee other than Starbucks.
My friend Sarah (that isn't actually her name but I'll just refer to her as Sarah to keep her Starbucks obsession a secret) came over to my house to sleepover and work on a project. We had to stay up really late to be able to finish our project and watch our favorite movie (TITANIC!). This is basically how I discovered her obsession:
Me: We need to make coffee to be able to stay up long enough to get to the end of Titanic.
Sarah: Do you have Starbucks?
Me: Do I look like a coffee shop? I have coffee grounds, it's no different than Starbucks.
Sarah: Oh I only drink Starbucks. I guess I'll just fall asleep before the boat sinks.
Uh... okay? What is so magical about Starbucks? I asked Sarah this and apparently it tastes better than "normal" coffee. Anyone else out there obsessed with Starbucks? If so, let me know why...
