I have realized why I'm thinking so much about Neville. I hate to admit this but I think I'm developing a crush...or probably more. I say "think" because it's too early in the year to be thinking about that. But he sits beside me in Potions and sometimes I catch myself staring at him for a little longer than normal. It's not like I need to pay attention in that class anyway.
I shouldn't even be thinking about him. The boy is literally walking beside me. It's already the weekend and we are on our way to the Black Lake. I thought it wouldn't be that cold so I'm just wearing some brown pants and a short sleeved white shirt. Turns out I was wrong but I was too lazy to change. Sometimes I can be very stupid.
A wave of shiver runs through my body. I smile and pretend like it was nothing.
"Are you okay Asphodel? You look a little...cold," Harry says.
"No shit bro," I respond.
"Do you want my sweater? I don't mind," Neville says but I stop him before takes it off.
"So you'll freeze like I am? I don't think so," I say hurriedly. "Keep it I'll be fine."
He gives me a worried look but doesn't argue. We get to the lake and Harry sits under a tree close to the water. I was thinking about joining him but then I see Neville getting ready to go in. Might as well join him right?
I roll up my pants so they don't get wet and I start taking off my shoes and socks.
"I don't think you should come in Asphodel," Neville hisses.
"Why not?" I say, more focused on taking off my sock than listening.
"It's really cold. I'm worried you might get sick," he says.
"I'll be fine! Besides, we're here to look at seaweed and moss right?" I smile and step in the water with him.
"Are you not worried about the first trial Asphodel?" Harry asks. Now that I think about it, he hasn't really talked that much. Is he still thinking about the tournament?
"I gave up on that a long time ago. I think of it like my homework, worry about it when the due date is near," I say.
"For a Ravenclaw, you really are dumb," He says.
"At least I'm passing Potions, unlike you," I shoot back.
"Whatever, if you two can keep it down it would be great," He says.
"Oh of course, my prince," I give him a low bow and he rolls his eyes.
Me and Neville spend the rest of the afternoon looking at the different types of seaweed, rocks, and moss (Harry sometimes shushing us because we were "being too loud"). After a while, I can't feel my toes and that's when I know I should probably get out. I sit beside Harry while Neville keeps looking at other plants.
"I can't believe this," Harry mumbles, frowning at the newspaper that he's holding.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Have you not read what Rita Skeeter said about you on the Daily Prophet?" Harry says.
I smirk. "No, why? Is it bad?"
We had our interviews done yesterday afternoon and let me tell you it was not good. For Rita, not for me. It's actually kind of funny.
I had to go first since I was the closest one for her to pull. We went into a broom closet and she did my interview there.
She started asking about how my parents would feel (I haven't even told them and I probably should.) and what was my strategy for winning. I told her I didn't have a strategy and that I haven't told my parents about it. She just laughed and said I was a rebel and that everyone loves them. She then called me an attention seeker and said I would probably be the first one to drop out.
