It's been a week since Dumbledore made an assembly in honor of Jane and Cedric. He confirmed that Voldemort is back and to take precautions about where we go and where we are. Exams also got cancelled.

In a sudden turn of events, Professor Moody wasn't actually him but the son of Barty Crouch. Apparently he had escaped Askaban and now works for Voldemort. He was given the task of bringing Harry to Voldemort. The real professor was kept locked away in a chest where no one could find him.

There's only two weeks left of school and I am currently in the Astronomy Tower. With no more school to do, I haven't been doing anything productive. Mostly reading and painting. I have been having exhausting nightmares about the night back in the labyrinth. I have never experienced something like that and it bothers me. Sometimes it feels like fingers wrap tightly around my throat until I can't breathe.

Anyway, I haven't seen Neville around lately so I don't know what he's been up to. Maybe I should go look for him right now but it's late so I'll do it in the morning.

"Asphodel?"

I turn around. "Neville..." I breathe.

Suddenly my throat starts to close up and it's like I can't hold it in anymore. I run and wrap my arms around him, sobbing onto his shoulder.

I think that the fact that I have never had someone that I know die like that is what affected me. I think this whole week I was just in a state of shock that this happened until I finally realized that they're not coming back. That's why I'm late. Always late. Always waiting for others' tears to dry so that mine can flow. Weird how feelings work.

"Shh, shh, it's okay," he whispers. "Cry all you want, I'm not going anywhere."

"Thank you," I whisper back.

The Hogwarts halls are filled with the chatter of students and there are many luggages in sight. It is the day that we return home and I can't wait. I mean, yeah sure, Hogwarts was a fun experience but also a crazy one. And yeah, about what I said back at King Cross Station, about how this year was going to be easy. Goodness was I wrong.

But hey, at least I made friends, and gained a boyfriend. My parents will be very proud of that.

"What are you planning to do over the summer?" Neville asks.

"Probably help at the store like always," I reply with a smile.

"I'll try to stop by and see you," he smiles back.

"Sounds good."

We lost people, but I think that made us all realize how important life is and that we should live every second fully.

You may not have noticed when you did something for the last time with someone. The last hug, the last laugh, the last talk. That's why it's important to appreciate the people around us because the only thing that makes us stronger is the things that bring out the best of us.
