I wave my wand and break the rope attached to Neville's ankle. It seems like I'm the first one to get here which is good. I grab Neville and start to pull him up to the surface.

As soon as we get out and into the middle platform his eyes open and he coughs up a bunch of water. I pat his back and put a towel around him.

"You okay?" I ask.

He sighs and puts a hand around my shoulders. "I'm fine. Are you?"

Since I went to the surface this early, the effects of the Gillyweed haven't worn out. There's still about thirty minutes left.

I smile. "I'm in first place!"

"That's great!" He hugs me and I laugh.

I let go and kiss his cheek. "I need to take care of something, stay here and get dried, okay?"

He nods. "Alright."

Dumbledore.

I go over to where Dumbledore is announcing and give him a glare while crossing my arms. "Nothing about the rules said that others students would be involved in the trials, professor."

"Oh but there's nothing that doesn't say that miss Evergreen," He smiles calmly.

I smile in annoyance. "Really? I thought we were looking for an object not a person. And also how can you endanger your students like this? I mean this whole thing is just stupid! You let two fourteen year olds compete in a game that you can't prevent us from participating."

"You know that's out of my hands Miss Evergreen," he says. "The Ministry-"

"Since when do you care so much about what the Ministry has to say?"

He smiles. "Maybe you should get some rest, the third trial is only a month away!"

I scoff and turn to leave. "Just a second Asphodel." I spin back around and look at him.

"The secrets that are told become secrets no more. All of the pieces always form a puzzle and all of the things untold will soon be unfolded. Very mazelike do you think?"

I frown in confusion and nod slowly. "...sure."

———

"Asphodel I promise you I'm fine," Neville says with a smile. "I just went in the water."

"Yeah! In the freezing weather of February!" I say.

We are currently in his dorm and Neville caught a cold because of last week's trial. When he said that I immediately came to his room. I was going to take him to Madam Pomfrey but he insisted that he was fine. Of course, that didn't stop me from taking care of him. He is laying down on his bed while I water the plants on his bedside table.

I didn't get first place on the trials since Harry saved two people instead of one which was more than fair for me. I ended up getting second place and I'm really happy for that. What's been bugging me is what Dubledore said. He's definitely hiding something.

"I'm fine I promise," he insists again.

"Oh really?" I sit down on the edge of the bed, feel his forehead and...he has a fever. "You have a fever, you're not fine. Let me take care of you."

"I don't want to be a bother..."

"You're never a bother Neville," I smile. "I'm more than happy to take care of you."

"...fine."

I sigh. "I'll bring you soup from dinner tonight, okay?"

He sniffs. "Okay honey."

I smile and look towards the door. "Are you two going to stand there looking stupid or what?"

Ron shrugs. "We didn't want to interrupt this beautiful moment with our presence."

Harry nods. "Yeah and we weren't watching you two."

I nod. "I'm sure you weren't."

"What's wrong with Neville?" Ron asks.

"Fever and a cold," I say, standing up.

Harry tilts his head. "So you're staying the night?"

"That's not what I-"

"Great then, the house is going to have a sleepover in the common room, so you can stay here with Neville," Ron says.

"Wait but-"

"We'll leave you two then," Ron smiles and takes Harry with him as they close the doors behind them. Everything is silent until I hear one of the Weasley twins—probably Fred—yell, "Sleepover everyone!"

I look back to Neville, "what's their deal...?"

"Well...I have a plant that responds to people's physical stabilities, so whenever I get sick, the plant starts to smell...really awfully," he chuckled nervously. "And about you staying with me, they don't really know how to take care of someone sick. One time, Seamus made me a 'medicine' for my coughs which turned me green for a whole month."

I snort, "oh wow, okay, well I guess I'll be staying with you then."

"What about the plant?"

"Oh that's no big deal, I can make a potion to cure it and it'll get rid of the smell." I smile and he smiles back.
