Moon Singing

Even though Moon knew he had to sing sooner or later, he found himself procrastinating. He hated singing because he didn't believe his voice was the greatest to hear in general, but apparently both you and the children thought otherwise. Of course he could've hid from you when he had the chance, but he didn't want to look as vulnerable as Sun was, and it would make an excuse for you to stay awake. Either way, he was acting like his brother without even knowing it. You knew exactly what was happening, but didn't want to admit it just yet. You liked seeing how nervous he was, and it gave you some good entertainment before you went to sleep.

"Can't you just look it up on your phone or something?" He asked, "So many kids have phones these days that it wouldn't be surprising to see a recording of me singing on there somewhere."

You laughed as you watched his red eyes nervously dart around the room, "Do you really think kids this young know how to record a good video AND post it? Besides, hearing the real thing is always better. That's why people go to concerts you know."

Sun sat down beside Moon after finishing a couple things from your list as he let out a good chuckle. He saw this as payback for how he was pinned onto the ground to shiver earlier.

"Yeah Moony!" Sun butted into the conversation for the second time that night, sticking his tongue out. Moon stuck his tongue out in response, making you really take notice of them. You didn't realize they had tongues until that very moment. Still, you didn't want Moon to use it to his advantage, so you waited patiently until they were done with their silent game of annoying each other.

Moon looked back in your direction, "Do you really want this?"

You nodded in response, hugging a teddy bear that resembled Freddy you found buried beneath the many pillows that surrounded you. You were thankful that neither of them noticed you staring.

"Can you at least tell Sun to stay silent then?" He asked, "I have a feeling Sun is going to do something in order to ruin it all."

Before you could do anything, the star crossed his arms as if appalled by his brothers assumption, "Now why would you think I would do that? That would be very rude, and I don't want to put myself in timeout!"

"That's the thing, you don't have to since you're one of the bosses in this daycare." Moon crossed his arms as well, and from there they both turned to you. They had made it your responsibility to decide.

"If I hear or see Sun do anything, I will put him in timeout." You assured Moon, "Right now, all you have to worry about is singing."

Moon huffed as he watched his brother lay down on his metal abdomen. Sun looked upset as well because of your decision, but you found it fair enough. His rays were very close to your head, making you anxious, but you knew that he was going to be gone soon, so it was fine for now. Moon walked away to flip the light switch before returning to his previous location asking, "What do you want me to sing, kid?" He ruffled your hair as you looked up at him reluctantly, "Twinkle, Twinkle little star please."

"Really?" a huge grin stretched across his face.

"Just do it." You ordered, slamming your head into one of the pillows below to avoid further eye contact.

He laughed before beginning to sing, "Twinkle, Twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky.."

His voice slowly begins to fade away as you begin to enter dreamland. The only thing that really stopped you at one point was Sun attempting to muffle his giggling, but you managed to stop him simply by flicking one of his rays lightly. Shortly after you do so, you feel a blanket gently being placed on you.

"When the blazing sun is gone, when he nothing shines upon..."

Before you fell asleep, all you could imagine was Moon shooting his brother a deadly glare as he sang that line. You were too lazy to open your eyes one last time, but that sound of Sun slowly shuffling away proved your theory right. You giggled before fully on drifting into slumber. Moon singing was the last thing you heard, as promised.

"Then you show your little light, twinkle, twinkle, all the night..."
