You woke up to the smell of smoke. When your eyes adjusted to the new lighting around the daycare, you realized that almost the entire place is on fire. You started to panic before realizing that you were now behind the counter. The stone flooring below you prevented the growing fire from getting to you, but as the wall behind you began to break you knew that you weren't safe forever. The two daycare attendants were behind you, sadly watching as the huge play structures began to fall to the ground. You had to take action.
You searched for what seemed like forever before finding a fire extinguisher behind the many wires below the counter. Why was it there? You had no idea, but there wasn't much time to think about it. You grabbed it before waving your free hand hurriedly in front of the attendants faces to make them pay attention. It worked, and they looked down at you as you used the fire extinguisher to make a path to the large, wooden doors nearby. They followed you, not knowing what else to do.
All of you escaped the daycare, only to see that the rest of the pizzeria was on fire too. From how damaged the building was, you could easily assume that the daycare was one of the last things that caught on fire. Luckily for you, there was a dirt path up ahead. It was from all of the other staff escaping prior, and in order to make it there you had to use the remaining of the fire extinguisher to keep the fire at bay until you got there. You hear the wooden doors collapse behind you as you trudge forward, and Moon followed close behind pulling his brother with him. Sun was crying over the loss of their home, leaving a trail of his oil tears.
By the time all of you were on the path your fire extinguisher was nothing but an empty metal piece of junk. You threw it to the side, allowing the fire to slowly melt it as you walked the path. You began to sweat as the fire grew bigger, and the animatronics began walking behind you in a single file line to avoid any of the fire getting on them. They were as scared as you were, but Moon was not very good at showing it. All he did was comfort his brother as he looked up at the night sky for the first time. Most of the ceiling had collapsed by the time you woke up, making the many stars in the sky visible as they danced around the dark blue sky.
The exit was only a few feet away when you heard the solar brothers yell in unison, "Y/N, LOOK OUT!"
You quickly turned as they shoved you into the outside world. You got up almost immediately, not even minding the new pain in your back as you peered into the building. Both of them were trapped beneath a burning chunk of the wall, their faces slowly melting from the heat surrounding them. You gasped, running back to them only for them to both hold out a hand to keep you away.
"GO...Without..us..." Sun ordered as his voice got deeper. His voice box was beginning to melt.
You couldn't do anything but watch due to them being made of heated metal. The only thing you could do was cry as they both waved to you as a goodbye, and just like that everything faded to black.
You woke up with a gasp as you felt tears slowly trickle down your face. You've had a ton of nightmares throughout your life, but never one like that. It felt so real to you that you were confused to see that the daycare was intact. Emotions overwhelmed you as you heard something drop to the ground. Moon came first from one of the play structures, dropping the clipboard he had in his hand to the sight of you crying. Sun came to you shortly after from the balcony above the ball pit, hopping around like a puppy greeting its owner.
"Oh my goodness! Are you ok? Does anything hurt? What happened?" Sun peppered you with questions as you brought your knees to your chest. You were too embarrassed to speak. Luckily for you, Moon was there to silence him as he hugged you close.
"Did you have a nightmare?" Moon asked.
You nodded as you hid behind the blanket that was provided to you. Sun gasped, but was shortly silenced again by his brother.
"What was it about?" Moon asked.
"I... d-don't want to talk about it." You nervously replied. You flinched to the feeling of Moon gently pulling the blanket away.
"No need to hide from us starlight," He told you, "You're okay, no judgement here."
You tried to wipe the tears away from your face, but more kept on coming to the visions of their melting faces. Sun helped by handing back the miniature Freddy stuffed animal as Moon tucked you in with the blanket again.
"Can you at least try to tell us a little bit of what happened?" Moon asked with a concerned look on his face.
"We tried coming here to the sound of our name being called," Sun added, "But we were busy with a couple things from your list."
Apparently you were calling their names at one point in the dream, and now guilt was added to the millions of emotions bottled up inside you. You wanted to die right there to avoid the conversation as they both waited for you to answer.
"I... dreamed about this place catching on fire," you finally explained, "You guys burned to a crisp and... I couldn't s-stop it."
Moon allowed you to sit in his lap as Sun sat beside the both of you, "That's terrible!" He exclaimed, "How did it happen? Was the daycare ok? Was anyone-"
Sun was interrupted by his brother shooting another deadly glare. He didn't have to talk further to know what that meant, and it silenced him almost immediately. You continued to silently cry to yourself as Moon ran a hand through your hair. His delicate touch made you flinch.
"Its alright," he assured you, "You don't have to answer anymore questions."
I soft sigh of relief washed over you as you snuggled up against Moon. There was nothing to worry about anymore.
At least for now.
