Comfort And Help

There was only 15 minutes left of your shift, so the option of going back to sleep was now gone. Even if you had more time, the nightmare you had probably wouldn't be so friendly towards you. The only thing that you could do was calm yourself down with the help of the daycare attendants before going out into the dark to head home. Moon was really caring when it came to this situation. He would tell you how much time you had left about every 2 minutes while at the same time keeping you comfy on his lap. He was basically like a caring parent at the moment.

On the other hand, Sun was still very worried for you. When you stopped crying, you answered some of his questions out of boredom. You appreciated how much he worried for your safety, but sometimes you wished that he would take it down a notch. Besides, you weren't just another kid visiting the daycare. You were an adult, and had your own responsibilities.

"Are you sure your going to be ok? What if you have another nightmare? Do you have to leave?"

After a while of listening to him you began to wonder if he was just an embodiment of your anxiety.

"I'm going to be ok Sunflower," you replied, "and yes, I HAVE to leave. Ill ask the manager if I could have a sleepover one day, but for now it'll just have to wait."

Sun let out a shriek of excitement, "Was that a nickname!?"

You nodded, causing his rays to spin around his head, "Oh, how I LOVE that nickname! Thank you Y/N!"

You chuckled at the animatronics childish nature as you heard Moon yawn from behind you. You turned to him in surprise, not knowing that he could do that until that moment.

 "Did... you just yawn?"

Moon nodded, "Happens when our batteries get to at least 20%."

"Do you guys want to go charge? I can leave early if-"

You were interrupted by Moon placing a finger over your mouth. It made you realize how large their fingers were.

"That won't be necessary," Moon told you, "There are 5 minutes left, and I recommend you at least wake up a bit more before you go out there in the dark."

You couldn't do anything but agree, but instead of staying in his lap you decided to get up and stretch. You didn't find it surprising to see that Sun started copying your every move. He was very energetic to say the least, and you could tell it was hard for him to stay in one place for too long. You heard Moon begin to laugh as he watched the both of you do your nightly exercise.

"Am I watching a yoga lesson or what?" Moon joked as he went back to laying in his nest of pillows and blankets.

You shook your head, "Stretching is just fun, you should try it sometime!"

Before the conversation could continue, you heard your phone begin to ring. Alarmed, you pulled your phone out of your sweatshirt pocket to realize that there was an alarm set for this time. It was 10:30, so you had to leave. However, you found yourself going into deep thought. You knew for a fact that you didn't set that alarm. The only alarm you were aware of having on your phone was the one used to wake you up. Sun was staring at the device in your hand with confusion clearly written on his face. Apparently he had never heard of alarms before.

"What is that dreadful noise?" He asked, placing his hands on the sides of his head.

"Its an alarm," Moon explained, "It helps with letting people know that they have to do something."

That's when it clicked. Moon laughed as the realization dawned onto your face. Three things were required to get into your phone: your PIN, face recognition, and your fingerprint. It was easy to get 2/3 of those because you were asleep, and Moon was so obsessed with technology that it wasn't all surprising to see that he had found your PIN somehow. You didn't ask how he did though, due to the fact that Sun was there. Too much information was in this device, and if Sun knew it all it would be a nightmare to behold. Instead, you applauded Moon for his brilliance before saying your goodbyes.

Moon only waved happily as you made your leave, but Sun was the opposite. He looked sad to see his last friend leaving. You didn't want to admit it, but you didn't want to leave either. You didn't want to be alone. What made the whole thing worse for you was the fact that the drive home was about half an hour, and the path there was just a single long road with barely any turns. It was late winter at the time too, so all of the fog added to the darkness scared you more than anything. Still, you built up the courage to do it all, and when you turned on the lights to your house you found that it was all worth it.

From there, you only had 6 more hours to get some more sleep. You didn't feel like doing so thanks to the nightmare from earlier, and began to worry about how Moon would feel about it until you dug into your sweatshirt pocket to grab your phone. You felt something else in the pocket, so you pulled that out too out of curiosity. It was an envelope with a crescent Moon drawn on it with a blue marker. You lovely stupid for not noticing it before as you opened it to see a card along with a few Moondrops (Moons famous candies). You opened the card as you put one in your mouth, and here's what it said:

 Hello,

If you're wondering why I gave you these, its so that you wouldn't have an excuse for not sleeping at this time. If I still see those bags under your eyes on Monday I'm telling the manager. If you need extra help with sleeping, check your phone ;)

This note made you realize 3 things. One of them being that Moon isn't going to give up anytime soon,  two being that you really needed to change your PIN, and three being that it was actually friday. You changed your PIN before searching through the apps on your phone, and upon checking the gallery you found a video that was said to have been made that day. Out of curiosity, you played it at full volume.

It was a video of Moon singing. It was pitch black the entire time, but you could tell it was from before you fell asleep in the daycare because you could hear both Sun and yourself giggling. How did he manage to do this? You had no idea. Still you loved it and used it to get yourself enough sleep throughout the weekend along with the candy. You couldn't wait to go back.
