The Conversation

After realizing what the stairway led to, you didn't want to go back down. It didn't take long for you to realize that it led you to Sun and Moon's rooms, or at least somewhere near them. You weren't usually a fan of eavesdropping, but this time you were to curious to just walk away.  You leaned against the door with one of your ears against the wood, listening in.

"What are we going to do tomorrow?" You heard Moon shout in a whisper, "They're obviously going to keep singing those songs!"

"I'll try to make them stop then." Sun assured him.

You heard Moon do a sigh of irritation, "But what if that doesn't work?"

"Then I'll make the staff tell their parents about it." Sun replied, " I don't understand why your freaking out so much. Its not like Y/N knows anything about it."

The last thing Sun said caught your attention more than anything. This whole conversation has already gave you so many questions so far. Why was Moon freaking out about the children's sudden singing? Why did they treat it like a genuine problem. Why were they whispering when they were here? The questions flooded your mind as you continued to listen to their miniature argument.

"Sun, I literally saw them looking at me," Moon told his brother, "They obviously know something. Crap, they even talked to us earlier about how we've been acting different!"

A short silence came before Sun replied with, "That is true, but all we have to do is act normal and Y/N won't be worrying at all."

"Don't you think that would be suspicious?" Moon asked, "Besides, we can't keep this a secret forever. We'll have to confess soon enough."

"But Moon, Its only been a little over three months since they first worked here, and we literally gave her a nightmare last friday!"

This part of the conversation was when it was confirmed that their change of behavior was because of you. You were glad that they weren't mad at you, but it was still concerning. At this point you weren't paying attention to anything other than the voices that came from the other side of the door.

"Their nightmare was literally about us getting destroyed," Moon argued, "You saw them crying! It proves that they actually care about us."

Sun sighed, "I guess your right."

"I'm always right." Moon said proudly. You managed to keep yourself from laughing as Sun giggled. You thought that their brotherly bond was adorable.

"So what? You think that we should tell them?" Sun asked.

"Not yet," Moon replied, "Maybe next week. Next week is Valentine's Day right?"

Your eyes widened to the sound of that. You couldn't believe that you weren't able to guess before. It all made since now. They LOVED you.

"Yeah its next Tuesday." Sun chirped.

"Ill keep note of that," Moon told him, "For now lets just try to act normal around Y/N like you said. Maybe that will stop their worrying before the time comes."

You began to gingerly walk down the stairs as you began to hear them walk away. You wanted to at least get to the ball pit before they got out of their podium, but at the same time you didn't want to make too much noise. You didn't know how good their hearing was, and you for sure didn't want to test it out either. Luckily for you, you managed to make it out just seconds before you saw Sun jump onto the small balcony above the ball pit.

"Y/N, WHERE ARE YOU?" Sun hollered in a excited voice.

You managed to reach one of the play structures before yelling back, "OVER HERE SUNNY!"

The sound of Sun landing in the ball pit entered your ears as you ran towards his location. You pretended to be excited to see him, even though you were kind of nervous. Just knowing their little secret made you feel a bit of guilt for secretly invading their privacy. Now you were the one with the secret.

Sun hopped out of the ball pit before picking you up like a teddy bear, "Are you alright? Sorry that we left you alone, we just had to talk for a bit!" He looked worried for you, which made you feel worse.

"It's alright," You assured him, "I needed some time to think anyway."

A cheerful smile appeared on his face as he set you down. He was really good at acting, but it wasn't surprising since he was originally programmed to be in a show. You knew this because the manager informed you when you were first applied for the job. You were never told why the two daycare attendants were here instead though. Before you could even continue talking to Sun, you felt a slight tap on your back. You flinched to the short, delicate touch before turning around and seeing that it was Moon.

"Hello Moon!" You greeted him with a forced smile.

"Hi Y/N," He responded with a small wave, "What have you been doing while we were gone?"

"Playing in the play structures," You lied, "And before you judge me, I was bored ok?"

 He laughed, "No judgement here!"

You all spent the next half hour talking about random stuff like you guys usually did. What kind of stuff? Things like new games for the kids to play, art supplies that need to get restocked, Toys to repair from with the daycare, etc. Sadly, the conversation had to end when the new alarm on your phone went off, telling you that you had to leave. They both strangely enough looked upset, but told you your goodbyes anyway as you exited the daycare.

You hoped tomorrow would be better.
