An Interesting Start

It was now Monday, and you were getting ready to leave your home. For the first time in weeks, you were actually excited to go into the daycare. The dark bags that were beneath your eyes had disappeared for the most part, and for the first time in a while you found yourself standing behind the mirror with confidence as you brushed your hair back. It was interesting to see how a change in your amount of sleep can effect so much. Maybe that's why Moon loved sleeping so much.

Before you could even distract yourself with the thoughts that appeared in you mind, you picked up your phone and took a step outside. The cold winter air smashed into your face as you walked to your car with ease. It was the first time in weeks that you were able to enjoy it, but you didn't want to spend too much time. You didn't want to keep the two daycare attendants waiting.

You drove the entire 30 minutes, almost feeling hyped for the big day ahead. You couldn't wait to see Moons reaction when he saw you run through those large, wooden doors. As you exited your car and inhaled the winter breeze once more, you noticed a familiar car park beside yours. You wondered why the car looked so familiar until the driver drove out. It was F/N (Friend Name).

"Why, hello Y/N," they greeted, "haven't seen you in a while!"

"What are you doing here?" You asked, checking your watch. It was 6:27, meaning that you had around half an hour to enter the daycare before the place opened.

"I just wanted to come early to see what all of the commotion was about." F/N replied, "What are you doing here?"

You hesitated before explaining, "I actually work here. My job is to assist the daycare attendants throughout the day."

"Are you trying to tell me that this place has all of the animatronics too?" F/N asked wish a gasp.

You nodded, plugging your ears to the highs pitched shriek of excitement that they let out.

"Could I come with you?" F/N asked as they ran circles around you.

You nodded, allowing them to follow you through the entrance. The pizzeria was still mostly empty, so it was easy to sneak your friend into the daycare without being noticed. The both of you didn't even last a second in there when Sun ran up to you.

"Hello," he greeted you happily before noticing F/N behind you, "Is that... A NEW FRIEND!?"

You watched as he excitedly picked F/N up. They didn't seem to mind it. In fact it looked as if they were about to burst with excitement. You took this as an opportunity to pass Sun and his extends arms, but Moon didn't seem to like that much. He grabbed you instead, spinning circles like Sun would usually do in the morning before setting you down carefully.

"I see that someone has gotten enough sleep!" Moon said happily.

You nodded as you pulled the Moon-marked envelope from your sweatshirt pocket, "Thanks to whoever snuck this into my pocket while I was sleeping."

"Whoever did that must be a genius." He joked.

You laughed as you looked back at Sun and F/N to see that they were both having a conversation. You looked back at Moon before asking, "While they are goofing around, do you want to go and talk somewhere else."

He nodded, and with that he picked you up again and carried you to his nest of blankets and pillows. You wouldn't be surprised if he told you that this was his favorite part of the daycare.

"Why here?" You asked, "Isn't there like... much better places in the daycare?"

"Yeah, but if we go and hide somewhere who knows what Sun is going to do."

That was not the answer you expected, but you took it anyway. He had a point after all. You began thinking about many other questions to ask, and luckily for you making up questions revolving around the daycare attendant was easy.

"Is it easier to wake up with Sun around?" You wondered aloud.

"Well, you could say that," Moon answered, "You could say that he's my version of an alarm clock." He chuckled at his own joke. It reminded you of how he managed to hack into your phone a couple nights ago.

Time passed as you continued to learn more about both of the daycare attendants, and it surprised all of you in the daycare when the sound of excited children began to play from a distance. F/N left in a flash, only apologizing quickly for the sudden leave before she left. You laughed, knowing that you were the only one that knew why. Sun went to you guys after his new friend left.

"C'mon Moon, we have to open the doors!" Sun told him.

Moon nodded before walking with Sun to the doors. He took this as a chance to make the lights dim before reaching the doors. Despite the daycare attendants having separate bodies now, he wanted to keep some sort of illusion that the amount of light in the room would determine who was going to be around at the time. When the lights were fully on, he would wait in his designated room until the lights were off.

Sun liked the idea, and tried his best to hide himself when the lights were off. Since he usually wasn't fast enough to make in into his designated room unnoticed, he would just jump into the ball pit or hide in one of the play structures. Because of this, you usually went to speak to him during naptime if you had nothing to do. Naptime was the least eventful part of the day, and if you stayed behind the counter at that time boredom would come at you faster than anything.

Children were surrounding you by the time you snapped back to reality. They were whispering to one another as they giggled.

"Why are y'all laughing?" You asked. You felt someone tug on your sweat shirt, so you turned around. It was a young boy, and they looked to be at least 4 years old.

"Are you Moons girlfriend?"  He asked.

You took a quick look at Moon as red grew onto his face. Was he... blushing? You looked back to see that the boy now had a huge grin on his face. It didn't take long to notice that all of the others had matching grins on them as well.

"Y/N AND MOON SITTING IN A TREE! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"

 Great, just great.
