"Are you ready?" Moon asked. He now sat behind his brother with his legs crossed.

"Do you really think I will ever be?" Sun replied bitterly.

You now sat beside him, not knowing what was going to happen. His claws dug into the side of the bed, making small holes in the mattress. You placed a hand over one of his to comfort him. He looked over at you, a bright red appearing on his cheeks. You felt your face heat up as well, and in response to it you looked away. The sound of the broken ray detaching from Suns head made him flinch as his grip on the bed tightened. You looked back at him to see that his eyes were beginning to water. He had bitten one of his lips to prevent himself from screaming, and the rest of his rays fully retracted making him look more like his brother. You tightened your grip on his hand, and he took a short glance at you.

 "I-I'm sorry.." He whispered.

"About what?" You asked. You were obviously confused.

"For... h-having you see me like this." He managed to reply. Some of his tears fell as he continued to speak.

"It's alright," You assured him, "You're doing great!"

Moon barged in before the conversation could continue.

"Can you relax a little?" He asked.

Sun did just that, causing the rays to appear around his head once again. It allowed Moon to finish the job. He had to slightly move one of his rays in order to put the new one in, causing it to twitch. The sight surprised you. You knew that they could retract, but you didn't know they could move like that. If anything they were more like Sun's version of animal ears to you at this point.

After Moon put it in he asked, "Does that feel alright?"

Sun nodded, "Th-thank you.."

"No problem," Moon said happily, "Now can you retract your rays? I got to make sure it works."

Sun sighed, but still did so. Moon nodded in approval.

"Ok, can you make it shift?" He asked.

The new ray wiggled slightly, surprising you. The fact that he could control them individually himself was a cool concept to you.

 "Ok, you're all good."

A shaky sigh of relief escaped his voice box as the rest of the tears left his face, "Oh thank stars..." He covered his face with his hands as his brother hopped off of the bed. Still, you stayed by Sun's side. He seemed to have noticed and allowed his hands to lower slightly as he looked over at you. You took this as the chance to pull his hands away from his face. The bright red you saw on his face earlier was still there. His breathing hitched as you decided to hug him, and you heard that whirring sound again. This time, however, you felt him beginning to warm up.

Is this what the kids meant when they said he had the warmest hugs?

He hesitated before hugging you back, "I.. I look t-terrible, do I?"

"Well, with all of that oil all of your face." You replied with a nervous laugh.

 Man, that was messed up!

A small smile appeared on his face, giving you a sense of relief. You were glad that your reply didn't offend him in any way. The frown really didn't look good on him. Moon had already left for unknown reasons, leaving the two of you alone.

"How can you do all of that with your rays?" You asked.

Sun shrugged, "It's h-hard to explain."

You nodded in understanding, awkwardly pulling yourself away. Hugs longer than a few seconds were not your forte. Luckily for you, Sun seemed to understand and didn't say anything about it as he tried to wipe some of the oil away from his face with the back of one of his hands. Metal isn't a really good cleaning product though.  You laughed as you pulled a couple napkins out from one of your pockets before handing them to him. It was best to be prepared when around a bunch of kids with art supplies. He made sure to thank you before using them, and they surprisingly worked well. There was still some on his cheeks, but you figured that it would be easy to wash off later.

 "Um... Y/N?"

 "Yeah?"

"Did you really mean that? A...About me doing g-great anyway.." His voice trailed off as he awkwardly avoided eye contact, shifting his focus onto a pillow that looked as if it was going to fall onto the ground.

You nodded, "Why would I lie over something like that? That would be messed up, especially after what that dreaded lady did to your ray!"

He let out a nervous chuckle, "Th-thanks Y/N."

 "No problem!"

The sound of Moon crawling through the tunnel made the two of you jump as you looked to see his two glowing red pupils staring at the scene from the darkness.

 "Moon, come out," You ordered.

You heard him sigh as he entered with all of the art supplies the two of you used earlier. They were now in two separate totes. One of them was yellow as the other was blue. The amount of things in the place that followed Sun and Moon's color scheme almost drove you crazy at this point.

"You guys left the drawer open," He explained, setting them down by the bed, "Had to deal with the marks some of the crayons left.

"Why thank you brother!" Sun chirped.

Moon nodded a little as he picked up a few of the plushies that sat on the ground, "So... what have the two of you been up to?"

"Nothing much," I replied, "Just been talking."

Moon seemed to have sone a little nod of approval as he put all of the merchandise in his arms away in one of the many boxes that sat in the famous daycare attendants room. You thought that the fact that he would even ask that was weird, and apparently Sun did too. Nervousness was clearly shown on his face now as he watched his brother begin to clean the mess in his room. Eventually he began to help him, and you did too after a while. You weren't really enjoying the sudden silence, however, and decided to make a conversation happen.

"So uh... How did this mess happen?" You asked the star, "Sorry if I'm pushing my limits here, I just know you like cleaning and-"

"No, It's alright," Sun answered, "and It's from when we were still together. This used to be both of our room's, and what is Moon's room now used to be a room for full-time staff that worked here."

"Too much of the staff got scared of me though," Moon added, "So it went unused until we got separated."

"So... what's up with all of the stuffed animals of you guys everywhere?" You questioned.

They both gave each other a questioning look before Sun said, "Well... we used to use one of each to talk to each other when we were bored. Like, I would hold one of Moon's and act as if I was talking to him. It kind of helped assure us that we weren't just imagining these voices in our head."

"Since I was... kinda buggy... I ended up going through a rampage one day, making this mess." Moon explained, picking up the remainder of the mess, "I wasn't the best brother at the time."

Sun gave him a reassuring pat on the back after all of you proceeded to put all of the things you grabbed away in boxes. Sure, almost all of the boxes looked like they were about to explode, but it was still a job well done.

"Well, thanks for everything today Y/N!" Sun chirped as he began to make his bed.

 "No problem!"

The alarm went off on your phone, signaling that it was your time to leave. All of you said your goodbye's before you left the daycare, but you had other plans.

You wanted to talk to the manager.
