Iris POV:

Reid...that's the infamous dark-haired man's name.

After we found and spoke to him last night Cole and I took a bubble bath together. Watched a lot of shows with orders from doordash and Postmates coming in frequently. It was great after the days I spent neglecting him.

I really feel bad for even doing that to him but when there's so much on my mind for so long, I prefer to distance myself from people until I grasp at at-least one thought so I can fully dissect it and make up my mind on what to do from there on

Cole truly is amazing for being so patient and understanding when it comes to my moods. At least I'm a lot better now since I got my closure. I don't know what Reid was talking about last night although I really do feel bad about his outlook on the world, but I chose to bury it along with any memory I have of him. I truly do feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

"Iris" my boss calls snapping me out of my thoughts making me look away from the YouTube Shitngigs podcast that I've had on pause for a while now. Sitting up straighter I try give my "I've been working" face.

"My office now" he yells and then turns around going back to his office. Mood much. Standing up I look around to find the other realtors looking at me with sympathy. Oh, wow okay so today had to be the day I get fired well then.

Fixing my posture, I walk towards his office with my head held high my dignity close to my chest. Elegance in every step and a sway of my hips. Finally reaching his office I sit down in front of his desk casually as possible.

He stares at me for a good minute like his trying to find the words for what his about to utter well fuck if it's hard for him to even say them then this must be really bad because nothing makes Victor hold his tongue.

"What game are you playing at little girl" is what he finally says. Frowning I stare at him lost at words. I'm really confused right now. He leans his elbows on the desk and glares at me.

"You prance around here making no sales and then have the nerve to buy the company. What kind of people do you flaunt your ass around" he seethes looking at me like I've utterly disrespected him. Damn I knew he didn't like but accusing me has to be on another level of hate.

"I didn't buy this company" I say trying to defend myself, but he doesn't want to hear any of it. Instead, he scoffs leaning back into his chair shaking his head in disapproval.

"Then why the hell did I get a call from higher up telling me that an Iris Val Stark has bought the building and 70% shares of the company and that I should evocate my office as quickly as possible" he snarls and now I'm stunned. Bought the company. Me? I only have enough money to buy 12 club sandwiches a month with the type of salary I receive so buying the company doesn't seem like something I could possibly do

But Cole would

Aggh boy do I have to give that man a piece of my mind when I get home but first, I need to deal with this prick of which is now my employee. A smirks spreads across my face as I stand scraping the chair on the floor. The sound echoes around the office space making him grind his teeth.

"Oh well then chop chop get to work make sure it's spick and span Victor. I would hate to have any remains of your pompous what's the word you used oh right ass left in this room" I say and then I turn around walking out of the office. My confidence evaporates when I step through the door frame.

"Oh my god I just did that" I whisper in surprise and excitement. I just fucking did that. Getting back to my desk I grab my cell and I dial Cole's number. Everyone looks at me in shock whilst giving me side eyes. I'm pretty sure they all heard that.
