Iris POV:
"Do you think we might need to go to Nauri again?" I asked, my gaze drifting away from the cabin to Cole. He sat there, fixated on the front door, his leg bouncing with nerves.
"No, I think Reid has this under control," he replied, his voice exuding confidence in Reid. A smirk crept onto my face; I recognized his possessiveness all too well. When Cole started to show possessive traits, it usually meant...
"Oh, look at you," I grinned, nudging him gently with my shoulder. He looked at me, puzzled, then rolled his eyes.
"No, stop, leave me alone," he protested, his cheeks tinged with pink.
"Oh my goodness, you love him, don't you?" I teased, playfully cupping his face to make him meet my gaze.
"No," he denied, but his smile betrayed him.
"Cole," I arched an eyebrow, urging him to be honest.
"Princess," he shot back, a playful challenge in his eyes.
"Oh my gosh, you do," I exclaimed softly, leaning in close to his lips. He leaned forward, planting a quick peck on mine before returning his focus to the door.
"He's been on the phone for 10 minutes now. Do you think he's okay?" Cole asked, his concern growing into impatience.
"I think so. Reid isn't one to easily talk about his emotions," I replied, resting my head on his shoulder.
"Except during sex," he murmured. I glanced at him, a smile creeping onto my face.
"What do you suggest we do? Tie him up and make him open up?" I said, excitement evident in my voice. I still felt the lingering sensations from what happened in the club, my body sensitive and yearning for more.
"You would love that, wouldn't you?" Cole grinned, looking down at me. I nodded, a teasing smile playing on my lips.
"Of course."
"Here he comes," I announced as Reid closed the front door, and descended the stairs toward us. He opened the car door and sat down with a huff, closing it behind him.
"So, what do we need to do?" Cole asked his readiness to support Reid evident in his tone.
"Nothing, everything's sorted," Reid stated, gripping the steering wheel as if trying to steady himself.
"This, or anything like this, won't ever happen again. I made sure of it," he said, his words carrying a darker undertone.
"Are you okay?" I cautiously inquired, sensing the tension in the air that made the hairs on my skin stand.
"Yeah, I just..." Reid trailed off, his gaze shifting toward the cabin as if a sudden realization had struck him. "I need to do something, but I need you guys not to question me," he said, turning to look at us with a serious expression.

Cole's POV:
"Huh, when you mentioned not to question you, this wasn't quite what I had in mind," I remarked, taking a bite of chicharrón as the cabin blazed before us.
"Reid, are you absolutely sure about this?" Iris inquired, her hands on her hips, visibly anxious as she paced back and forth, scanning the escalating situation.
"It's dead weight," Reid affirmed, his attention split between monitoring the spreading fire and ensuring it didn't extend into the surrounding woods.
The roar of a firetruck reverberated through the forest. It pulled up, and its occupants swiftly sprang into action. Four firefighters charged toward the inferno, armed with extinguishers and a hose. The captain, leading the team, approached us and extended his hand to Reid. They shook hands, followed by a similar handshake with Iris and me.
