Reid POV:
Parking some random guy's car I hot-wired in front of the safe house. Val and Cole climb out with wide eyes. Opening my car door I step out as well leaving it open because I'm not staying for too long. I'm just going to make sure they're settled in
"Wow," Val says as she starts making her way towards the house
"If you can afford a place like this why do you live in the woods" Cole asked and I chuckled
"The cabin is my childhood home I promised my mom I would look after it," I say but I bite my tongue from saying more
"Are you really going to leave us here?" he asked and I grunted
"It's the best I can do. I can't have you guys trailing around with me. You might know your way around a gun but Iris doesn't" I say and Cole grins
"There's a lot you don't know about us," he says shoving his hands into his pockets and then running after Val
"Look at this" Val says pointing at something on the ground squinting my eyes I try to see what it is from where I'm standing. Walking away from the car I step closer and when I see what it is I freeze. You have to be fucking kidding me
"Darling don't fucking touch that it's a bomb," I say looking around trying to see if any one of the fuckers trying to kill me is going to pop out. I have a really bad feeling about all of this
"Get back in the car" I yell at them both. I knew the fucking government we're secretive fucks but I didn't think letting my tongue slip once would make them go Hiroshima on me
Cole and Val race back to the car as I take my cell out. Calling a number it rings and rings and on the last dial he picks up
"What the fuck do you guys think you're doing" I bark into the phone
"Ah Ghost you see we had strict rules follow them and we let you play Meyers," the bastard says
"You let me play Meyers?!" I chuckle in disbelief.
This all feels like a setup if I find out that they've been meaning to push me out of the game I created well then it's only fair I kill every single one of them leaving no stone unturned
There are no friends or loyalty in this game but I sure hoped there was at least respect
"Call off your boys Mr. President," I say climbing back into the car
"Or so help me because clearly, you've forgotten who I am and what I am" I growl
"It's been a pleasure, Ghost," he says and then hangs up. Chucking the phone out of the window I punch my hand into the steering wheel and it blares nonstop.
Finally getting a grip of myself I stop and I take deep breaths. Okay Okay, all I have to do now is keep all three of us alive. Great just fucking great
"Hey Reid," Val says her voice acting like a lifeline and I feel a somewhat calm wash over me
"Yeah," I answer and then I feel her arms wrap around me. With a sigh, I lean back into the car seat allowing her to wrap her arms around me tighter
"I don't know what the hell is going on. I'm pretty sure Cole and I are running on adrenaline so when I say my next words I'm probably not thinking anything through but everything is moving quickly right now so I might as well"
"What is it Val," I ask and she nervously smiles
"I know a guy," she says making Cole and I turn our heads to face her
"Meaning," Cole asked and she bit her lip looking at us
