A Picture of You

Grian's Perspective-

"You wanna come with?" Grian asked.

Jimmy hummed before shrugging, "Sure, why not?"

He and Grian flew off into the town.

It took about an hour and a half, and eventually, they came to a stop.

"Wow." Jimmy said, looking at all the colorful lights, "This isn't like our little treehouse town."

"It certainly isn't."

They landed in a quiet part near a bunch of neighborhoods, and Grian landed on a street sign.

Jimmy, instead, landed on a giant tree nearby.

Grian started cleaning his feathers, smiling at the rustling light breeze when Jimmy called,
"Hey Grian! Try and find me!"

Grian looked up at the tree and hummed.

"You're in the tree."

"O- wowwwwww, groundbreaking discovery, I wonder how you do it."

Grian giggled when he heard someone gasp.

He turned around and saw the guy from last night.

Grian's eyes widened as he stretched out his wings.

"Wait!" He called.

Grian turned back and saw that the guy took a picture.

Grian, furious, flew over and grabbed his phone before holding it in his talons.

"You don't take pictures of people without their permission." He growled, cracking the phone.

"No! Please!" The guy said, running up to Grian.

Grian narrowed his eyes.

"I- I'm sorry, it's just...what are you?"

"What do you think I am?"

"I- I don't know. You look like a human but a bird."

"I'm an avian."

"You look really pretty." The guy complimented and Grian blushed.

He then sighed, "I'll give you your phone back as long as you delete the photo."

"Promise." The guy said.

Grian was about to drop the phone into the guy's hands when they heard someone call,
"Scar! What are you doing out in the street?"

Grian gasped and flew off, the phone still clapped tight in his talons.

"Tim! We gotta go!" Grian whispered and Jimmy flew out of the tree.

-

Grian crashed into the door of his house, not bothering to slow down.

His parents both jumped as he flew in.

"Grian! Do not- "

His mother cut herself off as she saw her son's panicked face.

"Grian, what's that in your talon?" Grian's father asked.

"N-nothing." Grian said, out of breath, as he dashed to his room and slammed the door behind him, locking it.

He then collapsed on his bed, trying to figure out what just happened.

I have to delete that photo. He then thought, and he shot up in a panic.

He grabbed the phone and looked at it.

There were a fair amount of cracks, but luckily it had a screen protector, and the actual phone wasn't badly damaged.

Jeez, I must've accidentally squeezed it more than I thought.

Grian tapped the screen, and the phone turned on.

Aww, that's a cute cat.

He then swiped up and cursed under his breath.

I forgot you need a password.

Grian looked at the screen and pushed on the number one.

There's no way it's just 1 2 3 4 5 6. Grian thought, pushing in the numbers.

He almost burst out laughing as the phone unlocked.

Oh my cod. That kid, Scar was it, is so stupid. He needs to change his password.

Grian clicked on the photos app and deleted his photo.

He then scrolled through the other photos.

There were plenty photos of cats, but also a lot of photos of Scar with two other people.

One had blonde hair and a goofy smile, and the other had black hair and the same joking smile that Scar had on.

Grian giggled softly as he saw that they had drawn a mustache on the guy with black hair.

Grian continued scrolling and saw a video.

"Hi Jellie!" Scar's voice said in a high-pitched voice, petting the cat.

"And scoop!" Another voice called, and the camera moved so you could see the kid with blonde hair put Jellie in a doll baby stroller and start to push her around.

"Martyn, don't leave her in there! She looks in pain!" Another voice said, laughing.

The guy with black hair came into view and he freed Jellie.

"Nooo!" Martyn called, laughing as he acted like he was upset.

Grian's smile faded as he listened to their laughter.

Wish I could be a part of that. But my kind is considered a monster.
