"Girl hurry up! We gotta get ready for the football game!", Alicia yelled.

I've been in bed ever since my encounter with Emma.

"I'm not going!"

Alicia came running out of the bathroom with her hair half did.

"What?!", she said.

"I said I'm not going", I replied pulling the cover over face.

"What do you mean you're not going? Your man is playing tonight and I've already got your shirt ready."

I got up and walked over to Alicia.

"I won't be talking to Brandon anymore, so you can throw away the shirt", I said.

Alicia put her hands on her hips.

"Now wait a minute. Earlier when we were on the phone you seemed excited about going to the football game. Now you want me to throw away your shirt. Heck No!"

I rolled my eyes.

"Fine, but I'm still not going", I replied.

"And why not. You and Brandon are so cute together", she said.

"We were never meant to be a couple. I just got caught in the moment."

"Where is all this coming from girl?", she asked.

"I found something out about Brandon that I really wish I hadn't", I finally said.

Alicia put her curlers down and sat on my bed.

"What did you find out Megan?"

"I found out that's he's been taking performance enhancement drugs to improve his performance on the field", I replied.

Alicia's eyes grew big.

"Where on earth did you hear that from!"

"His ex girlfriend Emma".

She smacked her lips.

"Girl Emma will tell you anything just to get between you and Brandon. She don't know nothing", Alicia replied.

"But what if it's true Alicia. What if he really is taking those drugs. He could get kicked off the team and the campus", I said.

I began crying.

Alicia pulled me in for a hug.

"It's ok girl. If you don't want to go, we don't have to go."

"I just wish I knew the truth", I sobbed.

"I know, I know. One step at a time girly", Alicia said stroking my hair.

I sat there crying for about five minutes until I calmed down.

"I know it's tough, and boys are stupid, but I wouldn't make a decision until I hear Brandon's side of the story."

She had a point. I couldn't believe what Emma was saying and not even listen to Brandon's side. This was all new to me and I had no idea how to handle this situation. Then again, I wouldn't have to if I could just find out the truth from one of his friends. Would that be too much?

"Ok, since the football game's a no for us, how about we go watch a movie?", Alicia asked.

"That sounds nice. What movie?"

"The new Spider-Man movie. It's the only thing playing right now", she replied.

"Ok, cool."

We got our things and headed out.

On the way to the movies neither of us said a word. I knew Alicia didn't care too much about the football game, but I still felt like she wanted to go. And because of me she doesn't get to. I felt like such a failure. I was torn between so many life situations and it was awful.

"Ok I don't know how much a ticket cost, but if I don't have enough, do you have some extra cash on you?", Alicia asked me.

"Yeah."

"Ok great, c'mon"

We paid for our tickets and got our soda and popcorn. The theatre room was not really packed so we could basically sit anywhere.

"Let's sit closer to the back because these movie theaters be loud", Alicia said heading to the back. I followed and sat down. I looked around and saw nobody I knew. That was until I looked behind me. I could not believe my eyes. It was my ex best friend Taylor's boyfriend James. He was sitting behind us with his arm wrapped around a girl with brunette hair. My skin was boiling. I was furious.

"James?"

He looked at me.

"Yeah?", he said.

"What are you doing here with her?", I asked.

"Umm, do I know you?"

"Not really. I'm Megan. Taylor's best friend", I replied.

His eyes grew big.

"Oh shoot."

"Yeah, what the heck are you doing here with another girl?", I asked upset.

"Why do you care. She told me y'all aren't even friends anymore", he replied.

I grew angrier.

"That doesn't matter. I still care about her and I don't appreciate you cheating on her with another girl!", I yelled.

The brunette girl whispered something in his ear.

"Look, I don't know if she told you this or not but I broke up with her. I can't take care of a baby right now. And since she decided to keep the baby I had to leave", he said.

I couldn't believe my ears. How could he talk about Taylor like that. I should've know that he was no good from the start.

Alicia came back with some candy.

"What's going on here?", she asked.

"Nothing. We're leaving", I replied grabbing her hand.

"What. Megan. Stop!", she said.

I let go of her hand.

"What on earth are you doing?"

I sighed.

That was Taylor's ex boyfriend.

"Your best friend Taylor?", she asked.

"Ex best friend."

"Ok, so what about him?

"Alicia before me and Taylor stopped talking she let me in on something that wasn't quite a secret", I replied.

"Which was?"

"She's pregnant."

Alicia paused right in her tracks.

"She's pregnant?"

"Yes and James wanted an abortion but Taylor wanted to keep the baby so her broke up with her", I explained.

"That's awful."

"Yeah. What a jerk."

Alicia grabbed her keys.

"Let's go back home. You've been through enough today."

I smiled.

"Ok."

Despite not being friends with Taylor anymore, those feelings haven't changed. Either way you put it, James is the one who is wrong. Wrong for deceiving her and wrong for breaking her heart. And now I'm angry. Not just for her. But for me. Because now I have to see him everyday with that brunette on campus. Talk about painful
