"Ok whose side are you on Alicia", Diamond asked her.

"Why you gotta make me pick sides? I'm both of y'all's friend", she replied.

We were eating breakfast in the cafe and everything went downhill when Jayla and Diamond got into it.

"Because you know Jayla been acting funny."

"No you been the one acting funny", Jayla butted in.

"Ever since I started back talking to Trey all that sweet talk went out the window. Talk about fake."

She put her hands in Diamond's face.

"Girl, how you gone say I'm fake and you a fool for the guy. I mean he done cheated on you, lied to you, talked behind your back. What else is it going to take for you to get the picture", Diamond replied.

"I don't know what's been going on, but I'm tired of it. Everyday, one of y'all blowing my phone up talking about the other. If you gone stop being friends, then stop being friends. If not then stop arguing", Alicia said and got up and walked away.

I followed behind her.

"Are you okay?", I asked.

"No, I'm not okay because I'm tired of being the monkey in the middle. And when I try to solve the problem, they think I'm picking sides. I don't got time for that", she said.

I patted her back.

"Yeah, that sounds frustrating", I replied.

On our way to class we bumped into Brandon and his friends.

"Hey Megan", Brandon said coming up to me.

I walked off.

"Not now", I said.

He followed me.

"Why are you ignoring me. Did I do something wrong?", he asked.

I turned around.

"Brandon please. Not right now", I replied.

He grabbed my arm and pulled me to the side.

"I want to know why you've been ignoring for for the past three days", he said.

I sighed.

"Do you really want to know?", I asked.

"Yes."

"I've been blocking you out because you haven't told me everything."

He gave me a confused look.

"What do you mean I haven't told you everything? What didn't I tell you?", he asked.

I looked around to make sure no one could here us.

"You didn't tell me you were taking Anabolic Steroids", I finally said.

His eyes grew big.

"I...I"

He stuttered. That's when I instantly knew Emma was telling the truth. I walked away.

"Megan wait!", he said chasing after me.

"No!"

He blocked me in my tracks.

"Please, here me out", he said.

I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes.

"I have to take those pills."

"Oh really."

"Yes, my father played football and he always wanted my to reach the NFL. But I was never good in high school. That's when I found out about Steroids to help build my performance on the field and it really helped", he replied.

"Brandon I get that you want to follow in your dad's footsteps but those drugs are illegal and you can get kicked off the team if anyone finds out."

He looked down.

"Promise you won't say anything?", he asked.

"It wouldn't matter", I said.

"What?"

"I found out through Emma. She's the one that told me that you were taking them. And she threatened to end your career by telling everyone."

Brandon's face turned red.

"Emma told you that?", he asked.

"Yes, and I was hoping it wasn't true but now I see that it is", I replied walking away.

"Megan."

He looked me into my eyes.

"Come see my tonight by the balcony", he said.

"What? Why?", I asked.

"Don't ask questions just come see me.

He kissed me on the cheek and went to class.

I stood there confused. With all that just happened he's going to solve it by meeting me at the balcony? I could not believe him. I thought that he would at least try and make a effort to get things right. I guess I was wrong.

I walked to class. I couldn't allow myself to get too upset about this. We were just going to have to see tonight.

"Megan, why did they give my a burrito when I said I wanted an enchilada?", Alicia asked.

"I don't know. Maybe they misheard you", I replied.

"Well they need to get their stuff together because I don't eat burritos."

I laughed.

"You'll eat it if you're hungry", I replied.

She looked at me and smirked.

"You right", she said taking a bite out of her burrito.

"So what are your plans tonight?", I asked her.

"Well first off, you and me have to be at the gym today at 5:00."

"Why?"

"Because we didn't go to the football game, which means we didn't get to perform with the Spirit Team", she explained.

"Oh."

"Yep. Coach said we owe her five laps", Alicia said.

Gosh five laps? I hope we didn't have to run. I would be ok doing a light jog.

"We don't have to run do we?", I asked.

Alicia looked and me and nodded.

"Oh no."

"Don't worry, you'll be ok, just pace yourself."

I hate running. I was never good at it. That's why you never caught me joining track or cross country.

"Hopefully, it doesn't last long", I said.

"It shouldn't take more than 20-25 minutes", Alicia replied.

We walked back to our dorm. I wasn't too happy about running the laps. But I knew it was a consequence for not showing up at the game. And Alicia was a real friend for sticking with me and taking the punishment as well. I know I've mentioned this a thousand times but she really is a good friend. Maybe I should stop calling her a friend and call her my best friend. My best friend whom I've had the pleasure of meeting and spending my last two weeks with. My best friend whom I could talk to when I was upset or nervous. Yep there were none like her. She was one of a kind. And I knew she felt the same way about me.
