"Honey, we're coming up there to meet Brandon", my Dad said.

"But Dad-"

"No buts", he replied cutting me off.

My parents were out of their minds.

"He's just a friend", I said.

"Well we'll see about that when we come up there in a little bit", my mom chimed in.

"Is that really necessary?", I asked.

"Yes honey. You have been talking to this Brandon guy for a month now, and you're just now telling us about him", my dad said upset.

"But it's not like we're more than friends", I assured him.

"We'll find out when we get there", my dad replied.

I sighed.

"Well when are you coming?"

"We're leaving the hour in an hour and you better be ready to introduce him when we get there", my mom said in the background.

"That clear enough for ya?", my dad asked.

"Yep. See you later", I said.

We ended the phone call.

I looked at Alicia who was twisting her hair.

"Can you believe them?", I asked her.

"Actually, I can. My parents would kill me if I had a guy I was talking to on campus that they didn't know about. You're lucky your folks were chill with you", she replied.

I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah right. My parents? Chill?"

"I'm just saying. They have the right to be mad."

"Yeah, but driving all the way up here is a little absurd don't you think?", I asked.

"Yes it is", Alicia replied nodding her head.

"I just wished they understood."

"What do you mean?"

"I wish they understood why I was doing what I was doing", I explained.

"Oh."

"Yeah I didn't want them knowing about Brandon for the very fact that if. No when they find out they he takes performance enhancement pills, they're going to kill me", I said.

"Dang girl."

"This is a disaster", I said laying down.

"Umm, girl I hate to add more complication to your situation, but...."

I sat up.

"But what?", I asked.

"Emma is going to be making a public announcement during first block today."

My eyes grew big.

"What?!"

"Yeah, it's all over instagram and Snapchat", she replied.

This couldn't be real. Emma was actually going to expose Brandon and ruin his life.

"Alicia we have to go now!", I said.

"But, why do I have to get involved?", she asked.

"Now!", I argued grabbing her arm. We left the dorm and ran to the gym.

When we got there, it was full of students and teachers. I looked at Alicia.

"We're too late."

She shook her head.

"This is messed up", she said.

"I know."

"Girl you can't worry about me, you have to find Brandon ", Alicia said.

She was right. I searched through the crowd but I couldn't find Brandon. Minutes went by and he was nowhere to be seen.

My phone rang. It was my mom.

"Honey we're here, but I see that everyone is heading toward the gym. Is there a meeting going on?", she asked.

Great. Just great. Now my parents are here.

"I guess you can say that", I replied nervously.

"Oh, well we're headed that way."

"Ok see you then", I replied hanging up the phone.

Just as I was about to start searching again Emma came on stage.

"Attention my fellow peers and teachers. I'm here today to let you know of a traitor among us."

"As many of you know, me and Brandon Johnson had recently broke up. But before we broke up I found out about his true intentions with this school", she added.

She wiped her face after crying fake tears.

"It is sad for me to inform you that Brandon Lynn Johnson has been taking Anabolic Steroids."

The crowd gasped.

"Yes, he's been taking these performance enhancement pills for the past year", she cried.

Everyone started talking at once. I couldn't believe her. She really exposed him like this. And even worse in front of everyone. She was evil, wicked, and I hope she gets what she deserves.

The principal of Weston Lake University Colby Simmons walked to the stage.

"Calm down everyone. Calm down", he said.

The room fell quiet.

"Now I know this wasn't the speech we were expecting to have", he said looking back at Emma.

"But sadly, the secret is out, and I have to abide by protocol. So Mr. Johnson, where ever you are. Could you meet me to discuss your ejection from this campus. Thank you."

I just stood there. In the mist of everyone around me walking past and talking I just stood there. I was in complete shock. I couldn't believe what I just witnessed. Emma Henson, Brandon's ex girlfriend, just completely embarrassed him and ruined his life. And what little satisfaction she gets from it will not be enough. She wants him gone. Far, far away from her. What a sick person. I wanted to go and punch her in the mouth. I'm wanted to embarrass her so she can see what it feels like. What it feels like to be embarrassed. You're dignity taken away from you. Not being able to voice your opinion. And now being ejected from the states most populated college. He couldn't play football anymore. He may never play football again.

"Megan!", my dad yelled behind me.

I turned around.

"You have a lot of explaining to do young lady", my mom added.

"I know...I just need a minute", I said.

My dad sighed.

"Not only were you talking to him without telling us, but we come here to find out that the boy's taking performance enhancement drugs. Lord have mercy!", my dad let out.

I looked at him.

"How can you judge him without even meeting him first?", I asked.

"Looks like he's already said enough by his actions", my mom replied.

I shook my head.

"No, he's more than that. He's my world. And I love him.

My mom and dad looked at each other.

"Then why didn't you tell us honey", my mom asked.

"Because I was afraid you would judge him! Just like you're doing right now! You would never give him a chance to even say hi or shake your hand! You just shut the door on him because of one mistake!"

I cried.

My dad held me in his arms. My mom patted my back.

They never understood the love that me and Brandon have. And it hurt. I was trapped inside of what they wanted for me. It was all my fault. I'm so sorry Brandon.
