Hello everyone, LannyNanase here- one of the interviewers in NarutoMagazine. Today, I'm going to interview jai-chi (or JamieMatsuoka who changes her username like socks). She's one hell of a person, a thirsty-obsessed Uchiha fan (ehem..) and she's really a nice person when you get to know her better. And what's best is that I'm friends with this lovely girl!
Question One: Since when did you start writing Naruto fan fictions? Since I stalked your profile (lol), I saw that you've been here for 3. Freaking. Years.
JamieMatsuoka: Aha! Yes, I've been here for 3 years but I was just a cutie patootie here in Wattpad before. I started writing Naruto fan fictions when I was only 11 or 12 (I think) It was a cliché Uchiha fic, but yeah I only realized that. Then I started writing my ideas on my notebook and started writing on Quizilla; my username was XJamie-UchihaX. :3 That was probably 5 or 6 years ago when I started writing Naruto fics.
Question Two: Well you've been into journeys and whatnot, eh? Why did you start writing Naruto fan fictions? How did you discover Naruto fan fictions, by the way?
JamieMatsuoka: Oh man, you're making me brainstorm. But tbh, I don't even know what fanfiction meant before. I discovered Naruto fan fictions when I became obsessed with Naruto and I wanted my own character to be inside the Naruto 'world', and so like I said, I began scrapping my ideas and such and discovered Quizilla, then traveling here to Wattpad. I started writing Naruto fan fictions because, well, it interests me and- again- I want my character to be in it- that's when I discovered the amazing world of Naruto fanfictions~!
Question Three: Deep. I found that deep. XD But next question: Do you have certain author(s) or book(s) that inspires you to write Naruto fan fiction(s) (Wattpad or any website)?
JamieMatsuoka: At Quizilla, I've read this awesome Gaara love story and a SasuSaku one. (I sadly forgot the titles. T_T). It inspired me to write even more. However, here at Wattpad, there are so many amazing Naruto fan fiction authors that inspire me to write. I have a lot of fave authors, but here's some of them: @Bre2k9, @AllBeautyDestroyed, @SleepyNinjaa, @KraziiKawaiiXD, @dawnofdelia, @BlueNineTails, @KawaiiAeon- wjjsbsjshsisj I love their book(s) so much.
Question Four: Do you think you improved?
JamieMatsuoka: Well, compared to my past skillz... Maybe? But I can't say I've fully been improved since I still know my Naruto fics aren't the best. I still have to keep writing and learn stuff~
Question Five: One of your fanfics, which is You Annoy Me!, I feel like there's a lot of inspiration needed. (That's only me, but yeah.)
JamieMatsuoka: Looool, Hikari resembles me a lot. I don't have much to say about that fan fiction, but I consider it as a crack-fic because I never intended to make it a serious one. I think it's hilarious because of the certain deep English words. I used dictionary to write those, people. I need a reward. :3
Question Six: What's the worst thing you ever written in your Naruto fanfiction?
JamieMatsuoka: It's definitely my first one where everything is just batshít cliché. My OC is coming from the Uchiha Clan, joining Team 7 (oh god), and making out with Sasuke Uchiha (why must you ask me?) and then just following the damn plot then reveals my OC has a damn power that doesn't even exist. Aaaaand, I created a Mary-Sue.
Question Seven: What's your favorite kind of Naruto fan fiction?
JamieMatsuoka: As long as it interests me, really. But I gotta say- I love reading Uchiha fics and SasuSaku ones. But lately, I've been reading non-Naruto related so idk anymore.
Question Eight: Three words to describe a Naruto fan fiction author like you?
JamieMatsuoka: Someone you're not (lol)
Question Nine: Well! Nicely said, I like that. Would you prefer reading Naruto fanfictions that are full of fluff, or dark and gore?
JamieMatsuoka: Hooh~ I love to read fluff, but I do love reading Naruto fics with gore. Maybe something that balances the gore and the fluff? OuO But what makes it better is suspense~
Question Ten: Last question! What do you think is the most important thing Naruto fan fiction authors should always remember?
JamieMatsuoka: Have fun writing! Seriously. Write what you want. Write because you love writing Naruto fics. Write because you love Naruto! I'm not a great author myself, so that's the only thing I could give. OuO
Well, that's the interview with the fabulous @JamieMatsuoka~ See you on the next issue, hopefully!
