Hello! How are you today? Glad you could stop by! My name is Author-Chan and I am currently back-up for Finally Fessing Up.
Today, I have asked gaara119 NaRuto26 and PortgasDeMaria to answer some questions of mine.
Let's see how it went:
Author-Chan: How do you feel about Boruto? You know, Naruto having kids and all and him becoming Hokage?
gaara119: Well, I've honestly never really considered it. I don't think I would personally enjoy it much. But then again, I was totally against things like High school AUs and stuff, but as soon as I gave it a try I found I actually enjoyed it if they were well written. I guess my answer is that as long as it's well written I could enjoy it.
NaRuto26: Well, I'm happy he achieved his dream of being Hokage and as for his kids, I think they're SO CUTE!! And I really love 'em! I'm just a bit sad for Naruto because he turned his back and forgot his feelings for Sakura when Hinata confessed to him or something like that but nahh hahahha.
I'm looking forward on Boruto's and Himiwari's life. :)
PortgasDMaria: I actually love it. And hate it. It's... complicated.
Really, I was totally ecstatic when he became Hokage, because it's always nice to see characters we love achieving their dreams, and Naruto especially had gone through enough that he deserved this. And NaruHina becoming reality? Made my fangirl day.
It's just... Boruto, from what I've seen of him, is a bit of a carbon-copy of Naruto, at least in his introduction. I would have liked to think Naruto would have understood enough to give Boruto the attention he craves so that he didn't end up the and way Naruto did as a child.
So I've got some mixed feelings about the whole thing.
Author-Chan: Decisions, decisions. Second question: What did you feel/do when you found out Naruto was ending?
gaara119: Honestly, I felt a little lost. Naruto had been my constant companion through the years, and it'll be so strange to know that a new episode or chapter won't be waiting for me every week. It'll be really strange to say goodbye to this part of my childhood.
NaRuto26: Well, I was expecting that so it really didn't surprise me when I found out but yeahh of course it was a bit sad knowing that my favorite anime series was ending.
PortgasDMaria: I found out months before it actually ended, like most people, so it didn't really feel real at the time. But it came at somewhat of a bad time, because another of my favorite manga had just ended, so it was doubly depressing for me. I've loved Naruto since I was a kid, so when it finally sunk in that this would be the end, I was not exactly a happy camper.
Author-Chan: All aboard the feels train... Third question: What was the most embarrassing thing you've done so far this year?
gaara119: Okay so the most embarrassing thing I've done is I was talking to this woman and she had this little kid with her and we somehow got into the topic of her kid. Now, keep in mind that I don't really know this woman, just met her that instance. But anyway, I'd only seen one side of her face really or somehow only looked into one of her eyes (which was a very bright icy blue) and I commented "Yeah, and he (her son) has your eyes too!" And for the first time in the entire conversation she looked at me straight on and I saw that one of her eyes was brown and one was blue. Her son only had blue eyes. I felt so awkward when I realized. >.<
NaRuto26: Uhhhmmmmm I don't really know because I kinda' forget things more often xD but I think it'll be when I..... Hmm when I confessed something xD nahh nevermind that xD my answer will be "I forgot" hahahaha xD
PortgasDMaria: It's not so much one thing... Honestly, I fall a lot. I apparently have zero coordination and gravity hates me, because I end up eating pavement (or grass, or dirt, or whatever ground I'm standing on) A LOT. So there's been many a time this year when I fell at literally the worst moment. During ultimate Frisbee in gym, getting up from my desk in class, again during volleyball, badminton too... Stuff like that.
I get a lot of laughs, if that's any consolation.
Author-Chan: Talk about embarrassing... *mumbles under breath* Anyways, the fourth question: What inspires you the most while writing?
gaara119: My music honestly. I'll be listening to a song and it'll make me feel a certain way, and I'll just suddenly imagine kind of a scene going along with it? That's not quite it; it's hard to explain. :/ like, the song makes me feel a certain range of emotions and I'll be inspired to write a corresponding scene on my fanfic. Obviously what I'm inspired to write isn't always the next chapter.
So short answer: my music.
NaRuto26: Hmmm that's a hard question. xD Well, you can call it inspiration but the things that kept me pushing to write more and more fanfictions are my ideas. You see, I can't really remain still if ideas/plots are running in my mind. So maybe yeah that's what inspires me, I guess? Also I want to express my thoughts through writing fanfictions about a certain anime (Naruto to be specific). If there's something I want to happen that really didn't show in the series or some characters that I really don't like, I'm gonna make my own story and there, I can write and change some things.
PortgasDMaria: My music, probably? I get inspiration from random places, too. Sometimes I'll just be sitting in class, or trying to sleep, and I'll have this epiphany or something. Boom, next chapter is born!
Author-Chan: Music is love, music is life! Last question(s): Is there anything you would like to say to all of your fans? What is some advice you would give to the new fanfictions writers?
gaara119: Let's see... I'd like all of my readers to know how much it means to me to know that they've supported me through all of this. It's really something else to come online and just see all of the votes and comments (I FREAKING LOVE COMMENTS) that are waiting for me. And to any new fanfic writers, I say this: KEEP IT UP. No matter how badly you suck, no matter how few readers you have, keep writing. My first fanfic was so horrible I took it down after Forgotten Darkness started taking off. And Forgotten Darkness is still only my second fanfic I ever wrote--and it isn't as good as sequel, The Child of God, or any of my other fanfics: Imperfectly Perfect (three cheers for a cliché title!) and The Frailty Genius.
NaRuto26: Uhmm for my fans.... I really want to thank you for all your support and for reading my stories. Also, thank you for your feedbacks and votes. I really appreciate it. And for those new fanfiction writers out there practice makes perfect. :D Don't be afraid to share all of your thoughts and ideas to be world.
Use your intelligence and imagination because those are the only things needed to be able to make fanfictions based on something/stories of your own. Express your opinions in a way up you're comfortable with, too. I guess?
PortgasDMaria: Really, I just want to thank anyone who's followed me, voted or commented on any chapters... I wouldn't be having nearly as much fun with my fanfictions if it weren't for you guys!
For advice... Write what you want. Sure, try to steer clear of cliché, overused story lines or overpowered characters, but also don't let anyone influence your writing. You may not be as popular as you'd like to be right now, but if you write the story you want, you'll find willing reader eventually, and those few key readers will make continuing your story enjoyable and fulfilling, I promise.
Author-Chan: Wow, you guys got so deep I can barely see you anymore! Anyways, I would like to thank these three amazing people for letting me interview them! It was fun, and I hope you enjoyed this month's segment of Finally Fessing Up! \(^-^)/
