Hey, vas happenin' yo!
Sueszi here with the first ever article on Fangirl Mania! (As in...my first ever article in this category...hue~)
And today, I would like to express my love for a certain OST. ^_^
Words cannot express how much I adore this soundtrack. Since it was not released, it took me days to find - mainly because I don't really spend all day in front of my laptop searching for it. I look for it within morning hours and then give up until the next morning comes around, or until the thought of finding it drives me crazy.
This beautiful work of sound waves was introduced in the first chapter of Naruto. I don't remember the precise moment it played, but I remember that after hearing it over and over again that noticing it play later on caught my attention. The tune repeated in my head multiple times; that scene where Tenten is explaining Neji's Byakugan techniques.
REMEMBER THAT? YEAH. I KEPT REPEATING THE SCENE ON YOUTUBE OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND TRYING TO SHAZAM THE CRAP OUT OF IT TO GET NOTHING IN RETURN. (Shazam: an app where you can now find out the name/artist of that song you've fallen in love with! Simply place your phone near the source of the music and the app gets it for you! The MAGIC of advertising, lmao!)
I looked through Naruto OST playlists on YouTube, played each and every one and heard every slightest bit of similarity but not quite the actual one I was hoping to find.
After two days of obsessive searching, I gave up-
-ENTIRELY. BECAUSE WHAT THE HELL, WHY CAN'T I FREAKING FIND IT? WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO GOOD AND SO HIDDEN?!
You know that feeling when you see something you really, REALLY like, say at a mall or whatever, but didn't have the cash to get it?
Then you get cash and go back to buy it, BUT IT'S NOT THERE ANYMORE?
This was so much worse, because I'm dealing with the freaking internet. THE INTERNET HAS EVERYTHING, PEOPLE. AND I CAN'T FIND THIS ONE FREAKING OST.
If you're like me and are completely into music, then you'd probably understand what I mean; especially that one soundtrack of a string quartet absolutely moving your entire SOUL WITH EVERY PUSH AND PULL OF THEIR BOWS...GAH!
I searched on Yahoo! Answers because it's freaking Yahoo! Answers for crying out loud.
"WHAT'S THAT SONG THAT PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND WHEN TENTEN IS EXPLAINING NEJI'S BYAKUGAN????"
There were multiple answers. I checked each and every one of them and skipped through so many Naruto scenes on YouTube to see if that were the same OST I had in mind.
Needless to say, they weren't.
This elevated my frustration. WHY, WHY, WHY?
And why is what you must be wondering while reading this.
Music is one of the things that helped me going through tough times growing up. My first pieces of writings were actually lyrics; music was one of my main inspirations that led me to writing. Songs give me ideas on a main plot or help me write so many chapters based on the emotions/designs given by said songs...
Music is something indescribable, whether it owned lyrics or not. Guitar squeals open up tightened chests and release all stress while the swaying sounds of violins relaxes one's mind. Drum solos force power into one's body while vigorous piano tiles are slammed on, building up a storm inside the listener. When given the luxury of listening to a voice - it's practically the cherry tip to the wonderful melodies (but this oftentimes depends on the artist).
And this OST...man, this OST...
It starts out slowly and sinisterly, as if preparing you for something much bigger, as if entering a battlefield. The music then escalates into a series of guitar strings struck by talent, building up the tension from both sides of the speakers to separating and then joining once more. Soon, several violins and cellos play beneath the guitar solos and make you THINK. Whatever situation you're put in and this plays in the background, it makes you think and it is SO. FREAKING. BEAUTIFUL. OH. MY GOD, THE VIOLINS, THE CELLOS! It gives you the vibe that there is something so much deeper than what's being given to you. It isn't merely an explanation of one's certain abilities or how much shit is going to go down; it makes you FEEL the threat of the scene, the depth of importance that one scene holds.
Goosebumps, GOOSEBUMPS!!!
The guitar dies down at minute 1:12 and the violins/cellos are all you hear. By that moment, your heart is no longer pumping blood into your veins but rather, pumping POWERFUL, INFORMATIVE EMOTIONS!
Minute 1:20 is when the other instruments return, reminding you of the fact that HOLD UP, BECAUSE SHIT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN RIGHT NOW.
Utterly beautifully, the flow continues in said matter and as the soundtrack comes to an epilogue at 1:48, you're left with guitar striking that sounds so very similar to drums, soon ending the soundtrack with its last chord.
I found it somehow. I'm not sure where, but I'm sure it was probably on YouTube.
And honestly, honestly, I squealed when I found it. I WAS JUST SO HAPPY THAT I FOUND IT THAT I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY DOWNLOAD IT AND COMPLETELY GO CRAZY OVER IT WHILE STRUTTING DOWN THE STREET THINKING I'M IN THE NARUTOVERSE AND I FOR SOME REASON HAVE SHARINGAN, OR FEELING COMPLETELY SHERLOCK-Y AT THAT MOMENT, OR IMAGINING MYSELF EXPLAINING SOMETHING COMPLEX TO MY FRIENDS AND BASICALLY FEELING LIKE I RULED THE WORLD.
- Give it a listen! (This is. AN ORDER!!! Lol jk)
Thanks for reading...and sorry if I got too carried away... ^_^"
