"Congratulations, Jeremy!" his mom greeted upon meeting them at the grounds.
Jeremy widely opened his arms to hug his parents.
"We're proud of you," his father said.
"Thank you, pops."
At the age of 22, Jeremy Winters graduated college and he couldn't be prouder of the achievement he reached. All throughout his college years, he struggled a lot of wondering what life could bring him after getting his degree, things were uncertain for him.
Jeremy passed by Lucy who he was about to ignore, but then decided to stop.
"I'll be quick," he said to his parents while he went to check in on Lucy.
Lucy smiled as Jeremy walked in her direction. With a smile on her face, Jeremy thought he got nothing to worry about.
"Congratulations, Lucy," Jeremy greeted.
"To you, too, Mister Winters," Lucy said. "I told you, you'll graduate on time. You were so worried about it. Now, we both made it."
"Yes, we did it. Thanks for making my college life complete... even though, you know..."
Lucy smacks Jeremy's shoulder. He laughed at what she did. "Whatever, Jeremy. But we're all good... you were also the best thing that happened to me during college. Thank you for being a part of it."
"Same, same..."
"So, what's your game plan then? After college?"
Jeremy put his finger on his chin as if he was thinking about it. He shrugged it off. "I really don't know... maybe I'll apply to the big companies out there, but who knows what would happen. It's gonna be interesting for me."
"What about you?"
"I was thinking of moving abroad," she said. "I'm not sure if I can make that happen, but yeah, that's the plan I had in mind."
"Oh... you always wanted to travel the world, I know that. You'll make it."
"We both wanted it," Lucy added. "But anyway, I don't wanna take more of your time with your parents. Go back to them."
"Congrats again, Lucy."
"You, too, Jeremy... see you around."
"See yah..."
When Jeremy walked back to his parents, they asked about her. Well, they knew about their relationship before and how it ended. Both met Lucy before when they visited their hometown and vice versa for Lucy's family.
They were doing great—they both love each other. Planned things together for the future even though they were just in their second year. Their relationship ended fine, not dramatically as they thought it would. They both remained friends. Later on, Jeremy found out Lucy was dating someone else while Jeremy focused on finishing his degree as he believe he won't be able to make it.
