"Ok so your total is $15.99." I said smiling. The customer put her card into the machine as it approved. I smiled and handed her the receipt. "Have a great day!" She rolled her eyes. And so did I. I hate the fact that older people always look down on younger people who are taking care of them as their jobs. It's super annoying. 6 months ago, I had just got out of a very abusive relationship. His name was Michael. He always pointed out my insecurities and forced me to do it with him one time in his bed. He would also yell at me in public and hit me for the stupidest things. Now, almost everyone in my life is very protective over me. Michael is spending time in jail for what he has done since My parents reported his behavior towards me.

"Hey I'll close up the store tonight! You have been doing it for the past couple of weeks." My friend Tiffany said. "But I need the extra money-"

"No you need the extra sleep. "Tiffany said. I rolled my eyes in annoyance "Tiff please, i need the money alright? I'm not trying to spend the rest of my life living in my parent's house. I'm trying to be normal again." I said "What are you talking about yn your very normal! what your going through is literally normal and it happens to a ton of girls around your age and younger. And what your going to do is your going to go to your parents house and get a good night sleep because you need the rest! NOW GO" Tiffany said.

I hugged her. "Okay tiff i'll listen to you." I said walking towards the door. "Yeah you better." she said laughing causing me to laugh and roll my eyes. "See you Monday!" I said. She waved. I got in my car and started it. I arrived at my parents house.

"Mami, are you home?" I asked. "Yes, in the kitchen mi nina." She said. I walked into the kitchen. "How was work?" She asked. "It was okay." I said looking down. "Rude ass customers again?" She asked. I nodded. "You know you should really say something." She said.

"And why would I do that?" I'd basically loose my job." I said. "So." My mom said. "Well you obviously want me to loose my job so that I can live with you and dad for the rest of my life." I said.

"I just don't want you getting hurt anymore yn, and I feel terrible because I couldn't be there to protect you." She said. "I understand that mom but I have to eventually move on from the past and focus on the future and finally find someone who will treat me right and I can start a family." I said.

"Grand babies?!" She yelled. I rolled my eyes playfully. My mom had always wanted to be a grandma I guess that's what she wanted for me and Michael. I smiled. "Yes ma, grandkids!" I said. She came up to me and hugged me while kissing my head. "Okay! I agree." She said.

My phone then started to ring. It was my best friend Carmen. "Hey chica." She said. "Hey girl what's up?" I asked. "Nothing I'm just dress shopping the wedding." Carmen said. "Find anything yet?" I asked. "Ugh no I hope I can eventually." Carmen said. "Hey you wanna go dress shopping tomorrow?!"

"Yeah sure what time?" I asked. "12:00 noon." Carmen said. "Plus Miguel  is helping Tristan with his suit, you know he's the best man right?" Carmen asked. "Omg no I didn't know until now that's great." I said. "Okay well I gotta go come to my house and we'll drive together." Carmen said. "Okay love you." I said making kissing noises into the phone. "Right back at ya." She said I hung up.

Miguel... Best man? Yn... Maid of Honor? I had always heard of Miguel but I never met him. I've known Tristan since I was 9. We've been really good friends since then. Carmen came along in 6th grade. Tristan had the biggest crush on her and since me Carmen talked a lot since we had classes together he asked me to get them together! So I guess you can say I put this whole relationship together. Carmen has shown me tons of pictures with the of Miguel before and ngl he's fine. He has a 3 year old daughter as I've heard. At least now I know I'll finally get the opportunity to meet Miguel.
