Harry's POV
The Stillness before the Storm

I set the pipes together, right outside the tent. It still smells like smoke, it's practically overtaken by nature here. Guess that's what a full year does. Thankfully most pipes are in good shape so I can set them together and then make bigger pipes by heating them up together. Liza has been doing her best to find more pipes by flying into the mines, I was able to get some security for her.

We haven't been talking much, just doing our parts. Even if we didn't have a full blown argument, it's obvious that our perspectives this time won't work together. Even if it was a brief moment with nothing heavy, I guess stress can do a lot. I heat up the last two pipes together and let them cool off. They're extremely thick and durable, if we just dig them in the right places then it'll be perfect.

Since I've done my part now, just have to wait for Liza now. I should take a walk and figure out the exact geographical location, the village had huge mountains running across it and is surrounded by a huge forest, one that goes for miles. Me and Liza somehow were able to get out in just a single night, I never bothered actually getting out with full speed. I didn't want to show anyone it and I can't remember why. Come to think of it, I was a fucking idiot sandwich back then.

I definitely could've done better than committing straight up arson but it doesn't matter now. Not as if the dead can come after me, it's pretty clear that spirits are everywhere but they don't meet each other in the afterlife. I go inside the tent, opening my backpack and digging through it a little, I manage to find a notepad and pen. It's empty, just a few scribbles and doodles that looks like it was done by a three year old which I rip right out.

That's the Strawberry girl

I flip to the next page, what do I put here for her to read after the deadline? Putting a message just in case I actually don't survive in the fight against Weller just as she put the ring on my finger to hold something special whether or not I live. Last thing I ever want is to hurt her. So, if a simple message can give some closure then that's enough.

That'll have to wait, she's back. I put the notepad back in my backpack and walk out. There's a fox besides her, they're looking at one another with curiosity. Its head turns to me, It just stares at us both and then runs off. Reminds me of Asher once explaining about foxes and their behaviors. To this day, I still have no idea how he gets these facts.

"Ah...erm, here's the last few I found." Liza states, putting five big pipes on the ground.
"Thanks, these will be enough." I reply, checking all of the pipes. "You're a big help, Liza."
"No problem, I'm gonna go for a walk so goodluck." she responds, her eyes are looking away.
"Stay safe, run if there's any danger." I smile.

She's been avoidant too, there's something eating up at her and whenever I try to ask anything about it, she always makes an excuse. Is she still mad at me? I doubt it, she seems to feel more sad than anything, her eyes keep moving away, voice is low, closed off body language, fiddling with her fingers and a constant look of regret. I really do wanna approach and ask her about it but she keeps getting away.
