*The next day*

My eyes scan the bookshelf, searching for some kind of book about the war. This is my first time in a library so I'm somewhat overwhelmed but I need information about my ancestors. I need whatever information I can find about the the first ancestor of mine.

I've already pretty much wrapped up all my work and probably intimidated Azula with some things...Falker I don't really talk with at all. Asher is the one with him all the time but for some reason I have a feeling they're up to something though I don't have any proof. Just a gut feeling.

I eventually find a book that goes into detail about the war. Supposedly the name of the war is 'The end of an iron fist' and by far the biggest war in all of history. The first page is just an introduction with a timeline of the war. It lasted 15 years...then again, it caused vampires to almost go completely extinct and they are very difficult to kill after all.

Though at the time there was a lot of purified blood so creating poison was easy. Most of what's written are things I already know about, which Asher had taught me about and things I've overheard from Weller. Yet one thing catches my eye, a painting where it shows vampires and an army fighting. In the background, there's a red string and I know Weller can create that but it could be dismissed as a mistake.

The next page is a bit more interesting, it's about my ancestors. The whole reason the war started as my ancestors were stuck as slaves for thousands of years where eventually, people would be angered by the vampires because of that.

This page writes about the story of my family and ancestors, how it started with as kindness to the starving vampires but then greed would take over as they end up as slaves. The most famous slave owner would be a woman by the name of Cassinova who had one child, her husband would be unknown about. She owned roughly 7000 slaves and was the most brutal to my ancestors. Essentially having lived almost 5000 years ago.

"Reading about my own mother now." I hear a familiar voice. "How interesting..."
"Your mother!?" I look at him surprised.
"Cassinova was indeed my mother, I don't regret one bit in manipulating and killing her." Weller states. "Killed my brother and father a few years after marrying Rose."
"I guess you can be my history teacher then." I close the book. "You're old after all and lived through all this, probably even have more information than the entire library."

Weller chuckles, he definitely has had a big historical influence but covered it. After all, he never is in the spotlight. Even back when he was the village leader, it was always one of his workers or servants who would hold public announcements. That's one thing I've learned about him, he gets annoyed by being in the spotlight. After all, you can't do whatever you want if people are just gonna bother you all the time.

Another thing I've learnt about him, to never look deeply into his actions. More often than not, it's a bluff or something he just felt like doing. Weller is always so bored he'll just do something destructive for fun, manipulate and torture just for a little bit of amusement. Even then, it's not enough.

"Well you already know I ended the war thanks to your ancestor, anyone else would say it's because people successfully freed the slaves." Weller starts. "My mother would constantly beat up slaves infront of me when I was 7, especially your ancestors, shocker I was a kid too once. Though during the war, the people's side had a weapon which was your first ancestor."

Now he has my full attention, whether or not he hurt Asher, I can't deny what he's saying to be intriguing because it is. I hate this man for always hurting my loved ones and all the trauma but I'll have to stay in the gray zone here. Especially in the library where we're in a corner where nobody can see or hear us.

Though I'm curious about him as a child. It's difficult to imagine him as one, a cold and powerful man was a child too once. Bit of a weird thought to consider, especially when it's about someone who raised you. Weller technically did raise me in a way.

"She was somewhat goddess or however you describe it, gods don't exist in this world though she wasn't a person from this world." Weller explains. "She was dead thousands of years prior to that but your family managed to bring her back."
"And how was she stopped?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Took me a little simple manipulation and this." he creates a few red strings from his hand.

Then why...

"Why curse you?" he finishes my thought. "All because I ended war and wants to repay me."
"So to put it simply, she was a goddess like figure who fought against vampires but you were to one who defeated her yet I got cursed just because you ended war." I reply.
"Pretty much, psychology and mentality was her weak side even if she was intelligent." he smiles.
"More like you just enjoy manipulation too much." I respond.
"That is true but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't dead serious back then, though the worst one was the person who killed Rose." he states before disappearing.

Well that answered a lot of questions but now there are new ones. What was his role in the war? How powerful was he? What the hell happened in his childhood? It's stupid considering I hate this man but no matter what I do, there's always some kind of mystery with him. Fuck I despise him for what he did yet now that I actually know him, there's a bunch of other emotions involved.

Another thing, what would he have gained out of manipulating Asher...? Maybe make me angrier, destroy The Ophels but that'd all be pretty useless though. Then again, he most likely did it for fun because that's who he is after all. Someone who just does whatever he wants for fun.

I'll probably have some place where there's the entire summary of Weller's lore, from childhood to the end of his life.
