Maturity update as of 06/18/2023
When I first started writing A Hero's Journey, I didn't have a clearly conceptualized plot yet, just some basic ideas and I figured as I wrote the story, ideas would be affirmed and a plotline would be created. By now, I have a strong set direction to follow, meaning major arcs and events are confirmed to transpire in my notes, with room for additional background ideas that come up along the way.
Having said this, because major plotlines have been set in stone, I've decided to mark A Hero's Journey as a mature story. Now let me be clear, it is not mature because of smut. There is ABSOLUTELY NO FORM OF SEXUAL INTERCOURSE IN THIS STORY!! The farthest characters go in this story is perhaps a heated kiss but it's purely along the lines of love and affection fluff.
This story is rated mature because it deals with sensitive topics that may be triggering to some readers, hence the mature level is a warning for what's to come. The fact of the matter is, My Hero Academia is a franchise that deals with themes within the mature level check list; discrimination, human experimentation, drugs, abuse, descriptive violence. In addition to these themes, I explore sensitives ones which result from the choices and actions Hayami makes throughout the fic.
This story contains the following trigger warnings; gore, violence, mental illness (Bipolar Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Schizophrenia, Depression), slight reference/implied attempted SA(adult character), manipulation, character death(s), in addition to themes dealt with in My Hero Academia. (Note that this list is subject to change as the story goes on).
I will always put a trigger warning at the beginning of each chapter where sensitive themes occur. If you are not comfortable with such themes, either please don't read this story, or skip through the themes (the story should still be understandable without reading the themes, but if ever confused please reach out to me for clarification and I can give you a toned down version). If you find additional trigger warnings within this story that I should add, please let me know.
