"And get this, Papa was so nervous that he had to read off from a script!!" Hayami exclaimed. Her cheeks pained from smiling so hard as she describes the events of today's training to one of her closest's friends.
A fervent laugh erupted from the phone Hayami held to her ear. She winced and distanced the space between her phone and her pounding ear.
"Haha, classic Uncle All Might. Number one at everything other than public speaking!!" Melissa giggled.
Hayami met Melissa Shield many years back on a business trip to I-Island with All Might. It's only natural the two would become the best of friends considering their dad's relationship. In fact, at the time All Might and David Shield saw each other quite regularly, and thus All Might decided to bring his daughter along for the ride to meet his niece.
~Flashback~
12 years ago.......(Hayami age: 3)
Hayami swung her small legs side to side as she bounced excitedly in her seat. Gazing out the private jet window in wonder. At the fluffy clouds floating in the air.
"Papa, the sky's soo pwetty!"
All Might chuckled and ruffled his daughter's hair. Hayami leaned into his touch and closed her eyes.
Smiling softly.
"So where are we goiwng??" Hayami asked.
"I have a meeting with an old friend, and it just so happens he too has a kid around your age. I thought I'd introduce you guys." All Might replied.
Hayami awed, the mere thought of making a new friend made her want to run laps up and down the jet.
"His daughter is only two years older than you, I'm sure you will become the greatest of friends!!" All Might ensured.
"Woohoooooo!" Hayami cheered, pumping her fist in the air.
All Might's life was rather dark, but one singular ray of sunshine pierced through his shadows of regret. Hayami was his glowing beacon on the lighthouse. His guide down a path that flourished a purpose beyond heroing. His little girl; who brightened his dimmed world and pieced together his delicate heart, filling it with love. Every day he was thankful for being given the chance to raise such an incredible human being.
"Welcome to I-Island sweetie!" All Might announced.
The jet glided down from the sky and landed at the airport of I-Island. The doors to the plane slid open, and out skipped a giddy Hayami. Her skips quickly shifted into a full-out sprint as she zoomed inside the airport. All Might jogged behind with two bags of luggage lugged over his shoulders.
After making it through the scanning area without a hitch, they ventured outside.
"Wowwww!!" Hayami gushed. Large buildings towered around them. The streets packed with civilians sightseeing the attractions. Beautiful flower beds lay sprawled about, all different kinds of flowers clumped together, creating beautiful scenery.
All Might encased his daughter's tiny hand in his large paw and led her down the streets. After roaming around, they reached an open area with a large white staircase, and a beautiful multi-coloured flower bed acting as a fence.
"All Might!" a familiar voice hollered. All Might's eyes glanced in the direction of said voice. Wide grin growing larger if humanly possible.
"Dave my old friend, good to see you!!" All Might greeted, giving Dave's back a big slap.
