A Hero's Journey(BnhaxOC)

Chapter 2: become a hero? part 1

"Can even someone like me hope to become a hero like yourself??" asked Izuku. His gaze fixated on his red shoes, too nervous to look at his idol. He twitched in suspense.

"WITHOUT A QUIRK...?" repeated All Might. He gasped quietly as pain shot through his whole body. Smoke began to emit from his figure. All Might clutched his shirt in realization. Oh no, holy shit, goddammit... All Might thought, cupping his hand over his mouth to hide his sudden cough.

Oh no!!! He's run out of time, this is bad.... oh crap, has Izuku noticed?! Hayami thought, glancing to her right where her best friend stood. Izuku's head was still low, staring down at the ground. A breath of relief escaped past Hayami's lips.

"It might've been because I don't have Quirk, but I'm always made fun of... Maybe that's why... I don't know..." Izuku rambled on. A cloud of smoke began to surround All Might but Izuku had still yet to notice. "But I think saving people is super cool." Izuku said, fidgeting with his thumbs.

"Saving people with a fearless smile. I want to be the greatest hero, like you.....!" with that, Izuku finally lifted his gaze, only to meet with the sunken eyes of a frail skinny boned man. The smoke had finally cleared completely. Izuku gawked wide eyed at the man before him, who stood where All Might once had. After a few moments of incoherent syllables, he let out a high pitched shriek.

"Y-Y-You're deflated....! Wait, you l-look exactly like Hayami's father???" Izuku stated, turning towards Hayami to get her reaction. However, he found no sign of shock written across her face, which only confused him further. Hayami, noticing Izuku's stare, quickly attempted to fake a reaction. "W-What. Oh My Gosh, W-What happened to you All Might??? You're so flat now? And w-what?!?!? he doesn't look like my father at all, y-you are s-so funny Izuku!! HAHAHAHA...." Hayami acted, her mind spiraling in panic. She prayed Izuku would overlook her obvious nerves.

"Y-You c-can't b-be t-the r-real A-All M-Might!!" Izuku screamed.

Sighing deeply, All Might responded, "I am All Might.." but blood spouted from his mouth before he could finish.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH, NO WAYYY!!!!" Izuku yelped.

"Izuku, That is the real All Might..." Hayami whispered.

"You know how the guys at the pool are constantly flexing and holding posture? Well I'm like that." All Might connected, whipping the spilled blood off his mouth.

"No wayy...." Izuku freaked. "All Might is fearless... He saves everyone with a smile... He's the greatest..." he blubbered.

"Ha Ha, A fearless smile huh? Well I guess there's no point in hiding the truth from you knowing that you've seen me like this... I guess I'll give you an explanation. Please don't write about this online young man." All Might stated, sitting down in front of the two teens. He lifted up his white shirt, revealing an ugly large scar. It was a purplish-reddish colour and almost looked kind of infected. Izuku gasped while Hayami just stared sympathetically.

"It's an injury I got from an enemy's attack five years ago. Half of my respiratory organs were destroyed. And I lost my whole stomach." he revealed. "I've become emaciated from repeated surgeries and the aftereffects. Right now, I can only work as a hero for about three hours a day. After I reach my limit, I turn into this...." All Might explained, gesturing to himself.

"Only three hours, I didn't even know that..." Hayami mumbled, avoiding eye contact with both males.

"Wait, If it was five years ago then it must have been from when you fought Toxic Chainsaw right??" Izuku concluded.

"Wow kid, you really know your stuff don't you" All Might answered, before shaking his head, "But no, this injury was not from that attack but from a different fight that was not showcased to the public. I asked them to keep that event private.." All Might continued, "I will save people with a smile! The Symbol of Peace will never be daunted by evil. I smile through the pressure of heroism, tricking the fear inside of me. "
