"Hey, you!"

Izuku misstepped, the reporter nearly jabbing his mouth with her microphone.

"How are All Might's classes?"

Izuku gulped, and in his hysteria, flailed his arms about.

"Uh, excuse me, I have to go to the nurse's office!"

Izuku stepped back as the reporter ambled forward, her eyes narrowed and ablaze.

Abort Ship!! his mind screamed.

Izuku's legs mimicked Iidas, and he sprinted across the campus.

"Hey?! Get back here!" the reporter yelled.

Izuku squeaked out a small apology and barged through the front doors of U.A. High. His feet skidded to a stop a fair distance down the corridor. He wiped away the sweat dripping down his temple and cheek.

A nervous laugh fought its way out of his throat.

"Reporters are scary... Don't you agree Haya–"

Izuku paused and listened for Hayami's heavy breaths, footsteps, and or any sort of sound to signal her presence.

Silence.

He felt every single fiber in his body stand rigid. Izuku turned to the nearest window and pressed his face against the glass. The reporters and camera holders remained blocked at the gate, targeting any poor student within their range. Izuku's eyes landed on a particularly large clump. He squinted his eyes to get a better view; a hand shot out of the mass and wiggled its fingers.

Izuku's eyes widened, and he released a high-pitch screech. He bolted back outside and lunged through the cluster, grabbing ahold of the hand as he pulled it free. He darted back inside the school with her in tow and leaned his back against the wall. Hayami's knees buckled, but Izuku was quick to hold her.

Her lips trembled, and she gazed at him through dampened eyes.

"You left me to suffocate! I've barely made it past the ripe age of 15, It's too early for death to be knocking at my door."

Izuku clapped his hands together and bowed profusely.

"I'm so so so so sorry Haya!! I didn't realize we'd gotten separated."

Hayami grasped Izuku's hands and gave them a small squeeze.

"I think this is it."

Izuku shifted his hold on Hayami from her waist to her shoulders.

"No! Hayami you can't die yet. We still have to finish our bucket list! We have to become heroes together! YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME ALONE WITH KACCHAN!!"

He shook her back and forth.

"Listen well, young grasshopper."

Hayami whispered in his ear,

"Tell my papa that I love him and am grateful for all he's done. Tell Katsuki that even in death, I'll manage to get a partner before him, so he still loses. Apologize to Momo for me, unfortunately, it seems I won't be able to fulfill our promise of marrying one another if, by the age of 30, we're both still single. Lastly, my dying wish is for you to confess to Ochaco, make Momma proud!"

Hayami's eyes fluttered closed, and her breathing slowed.

"NOOO HAYAMI!!! YOU CAN'T DIE, NOT WITHOUT ME! WE'RE CLOCKING OUT TOGETHER!! WHAT ABOUT THE RETIREMENT HOME? WE'RE SUPPOSED TO LIVE THERE TOGETHER AND SCARE THE WORKERS!!"

Despite his words, Hayami refused to open her eyes. In a fit of frustration, Izuku gave into his intrusive thoughts and smashed his skull into Hayamis.

Hayami's eyes flew open, and she caressed her temple.
