~Chapter 12~

Achillean Pov.

I see Addy finish eating her breakfast then get up and look around before walking towards her tent again. I get up and walk after her looking in to find her standing in the middle of the tent, looking around with concern.

"Where's Brayden?" She questions and I freeze.

"I don't know I didn't see him at breakfast." I say before Ria looks in the tent.

"He said he was going to get some fruit from the woods, but he did leave about 30 minutes ago." She says then looks around the tent with concern. Addy looks around as well.

"He left his weapons here... I'm going after him." She says and walks towards the entrance before I stop her.

"No, it's not safe." I insist.

"And it's not safe for Brayden either! I don't want to risk his life." She snarls and then nudges me aside gently.

"I'll be fine Achillean, trust me." 

Addy Pov.

Brayden must be so far by now... or maybe he's not, maybe he's dead. No! He is not dead. I jump over a log and stumble down the hill towards a large lake. No one. I look around then see his leather armband on the ground, picking it up quickly and widening my eyes. He was here... and something must have happened! Oh gosh, I need to stop being so negative, he's somewhere, safe and.... safe... and maybe safer... I hear a twig snap and whip around quickly, watching around me and perking my ears, I flick my tail for a moment then hear another twig snap from behind me and someone adorned in red markings lunges at me. I stumble back then trip over a log as the person knocks me into a tree. I grunt as I hit the tree then wrap my tail around a branch and pull myself up, grabbing onto the branch and climbing high into the tree. I see a Voltaris female around my age maybe the same age looking up at me, her long black hair reaching her knees now that she's looking up at me. Her markings a dark rose red. I growl slightly and she hisses at me, exposing her fangs, I activate my Mobilium song and let myself fall down before flying back up quickly and soaring above the lake, diving down into the center of the lake and flapping the Mobiliwings to move deeper, diving down to a hole in the side and swimming up to the air spot and gasp for air, grabbing onto a rock and climbing up, holding myself near the top as I pant gently. What is a Voltaris doing in the woods? Did she take Brayden, did she hurt him? Did she kill him?? I hear another splash and widen my eyes before kicking the top of the area, nothing. I activate my Mobiliwings and breathe in then dive into the water and use my Mobiliwings to push myself through the water, bursting out of the water and flying up to see her fly up as well. I widen my eyes more, freezing in shock before she tackles me and knocks me down onto the ground, I feel dirt fly up around us as she pins me down.

"The less you struggle the less trouble you'll be in once I take you back to the Voltaris." She snarls and I kick her in the stomach, knocking her off of me and obviously knocking the wind out of her. As she catches her breath I respond.

"What did you do to my brother?!" I demand I launch myself towards her, knocking her back as she stops herself near a tree.

"He's safe, for now." She says and snarls at me. I let out a roar of anger at the words 'for now' and lunge at her quickly, she widens her eyes at my speed and dodges to the side, falling into the dirt with a grunt. I raise my sword to kill her before I feel someone yank it out of my hands, cutting my hand, I let out a yelp of alarm and pain before yanking my hand down and staring at the dark gold blood, fading to red as it comes out, that's... not normal. I see it go back to normal and realize something happened to my vision. I turn around to see three other Voltaris, all male. The one that took my sword from me throws it to the other Voltaris who catches it as the other Voltaris leaves. The rest of the males leave and I feel the female grab my arms and start dragging me. I hiss as she walks in front of me then wraps her tail around my leg and trips me, as I fall onto the ground she glances back with a smirk.
