~Chapter 35~

Senn Pov.

I see Addy curl up more on the couch, on her side like she's supposed to be with several pillows around her to make sure she doesn't want to move. I glance around for a minute. I haven't seen Ingressus all morning and Addy woke up an hour ago but Ingressus didn't come down with her. I walk towards the stairs and walk up, peeking into their room to find it empty, I walk along the hallway and open the last door to see Ingressus standing in a corner, holding a Ardoni body with his fangs in the body's neck. I stop and feel shock and fear rush through me. he glances back and abruptly drops the body, licking the blood from his lips and walking towards me.

"Senn? Are you ok? do you need something?" He asks, clearly trying distract me from what he was previously doing.

"W-W-w--" I start and look towards the body, he sighs a bit and lowers his head.

"he was a prisoner of the Nether than Pythus gave me to eat. He knows that our supply has been scarce and plans to give all the dead prisoners to the Voltaris. I was hungry so I went and got one." he explains and looks back towards me. "But you don't need to be afraid. I'm not going to do that to you."

"I-I-I..." I say and trail off again, he watches me with visible concern and I shake my head slightly as if trying to shake it off.

"I'm sorry if I scared you." He sighs.

"I was just startled... I wasn't exactly expecting to see that." I manage. He nods and smiles slightly, pulling me into a hug. I hug him back and once he stops hugging me he immediately grabs my sides and starts brushing the blood he got on me off. 

"You can wash the rest off, I'll just be in here eating and I'll be down soon. In the meantime I think you should visit your brothers, just to check on them." He says and I sigh a bit but nod and make my way towards the bathroom. I really don't know why that freaked me out so much. I've seen dead bodies before. I guess it was just strange to see my adoptive father holding one and draining the life essence from it, I mean it's strange but I can manage it.

Ingressus Pov.

I can't believe Senn saw that. I think and purse my lips. I've always tried to keep that kind of stuff quiet and sort of hidden from him and Addy. And I can see why he's scared. I would be to I wasn't a vampire. I walk back towards the body and instead of hunger feel a sick feeling in my stomach but kneel down and drag the body towards a corner, huddling in that corner and biting the neck again, drinking the blood. I relax my body again, letting the feeling of blood running down my throat relax me. It's always been a pleasuring feeling, the feeling of a fresh meal going down my throat, whether it's normal food or blood I always enjoy it. But now I'm not getting so distracted with the feeling, my ears are perked listening for footsteps or voices. I guess I'm just paranoid now. I stop drinking the blood and drag the body towards the closet, pushing it in and shutting the closet door as Addy walks in.

"Hello love." I say and smile warmly. walking over to her and holding my arms out to her for a hug, but to my surprise she passes by me and makes her way towards the bed.

"Don't you 'hello love' me, gremlin." She grumbles and abruptly flops down on the bed. I stare for a minute, she must be kidding, or just tired, or anything she can't actually mean it. Her eyes fling open and she looks towards me abruptly, walking towards me and running her hands down my chest and looking up at me with a slight from and an apologetic expression written all over her face, her golden eyes sparkle as I look at her, it's always been comforting to look at her as well.

"I'm so sorry, I don't know why I said that, I think I was still halfway asleep because I was having a dream about gnomes and gremlins. I didn't mean that." She says and rubs my shoulders. I smile and wrap my tail around hers.

"I know." I say and smile.

"I love you..." She murmurs and leans into my chest. I lay down on the bed cradling her in my arms with a smile. I feel her finger's brush against my lips and see her staring at me.

"Blood..." She grumbles. "On your lips."

I nod, she's clearly still groggy and needs to go back to sleep. I just hope Senn really does go see his brothers, It would be good for him to try and get to know them a bit more, they're still his biological family and I think Almrak still cares about him, Dethalus I'm not so sure, but I'll make sure he has a better attitude because I am going to make it clear that I won't tolerate anyone not liking Senn, which reminds me I still need to introduce him to everyone. I'm sure he'll just love all that attention. I glance towards the closet and purse my lips as I look back down at my wife. She snuggles closer to me and breathes onto my chest, her hot breath is sort of comforting. She moves slightly and rests her hand on my chest then opens her eyes slightly and runs her fingers along my lips. I open my mouth for her and she runs her fingers along my fangs, feeling my tongue in a comforting way. I let out a slight groan at her touch and move even closer to her but her belly gets in the way. I look down and frown.

"Hey you..." I grumble and hear her giggle. I smile and rest my hand on her stomach again. I always dreamed about having a child with her and marrying her. We were going to get married after the tournament so now that I think about it, we were still engaged throughout the entire war because we never canceled it. I run my hand down her stomach for a minute and move her around so that her back is to my chest. I wrap my body around her with a smile, breathing in the scent of her hair. She snuggles closer to me and closes her eyes as I continue to think. It will all be ok... I know it...
