SURPRISE!! An extra chapter for you guys this week, just because I love you all.
Song for this chapter: The Good I'll do by Zach Bryan
If you couldn't already tell, I listened to a lot of Zach Bryan while writing this book! Give this song a listen and let me know what you think, it's one of my favourites.
~Maggie~
I was seconds, mere seconds away from the most earth-shattering orgasm I'd ever had. Boy Scout was pounding into me at the most delicious speed and had nearly brought me to release after just a few minutes of being inside of me. It was not nearly long enough when the fantasy crumbled around me and the moment was snatched right out from above me before I could get there all the way.
"Oh shit!" A future dead man screeched.
Turning my head just enough to see who my next victim was, Stilts was standing at the door with a horrified look on his face.
"Get out!" I yelled, using Blaze's frame to shield my naked body from our intruder. Not that I really cared if Stilts saw me naked—plenty of other people had at this point in my life. It was the principal of it though. That tall mother-fucker interrupted moments before a mind-blowing orgasm so he didn't get to sneak a peek.
Stilts fumbled, cursing something incomprehensively under his breath.
"Now, Prospect!" Blaze yelled from above me.
Nodding nervously, Stilts shut the door frantically, leaving Blaze and me alone again.
As much as I would have loved to pick up where we left off, I could feel Blaze soften above me—the moment had passed for both of us. Rolling off of me and onto the side of the bed, Blaze let out a frustrated breath as he ran his hands through his hair.
"Remind me why killing people is wrong," I teased, running my fingers under the fabric of Blaze's shirt. He shrugged off my touch, turning toward me with a solemn look on his face.
"You know this is no longer between us anymore, right?" He questioned.
I shrugged. "It hasn't been for a while. I told Nora when you guys were on that run in Colorado."
Blaze's face paled. "Told her what?" he asked.
"That we hooked up. She didn't seem that surprised by it, to be honest. She said Cash saw us talking on New Year's and figured something was happening, anyway."
Honestly, I had never been too concerned about anyone finding out that I was screwing Blaze. As far as I was concerned, I wasn't doing anything wrong. As far as I knew, Blaze didn't have an old lady or even a casual girlfriend. He seemed well-liked and pretty normal considering everything he'd been through. He could probably do a lot better than me, while I sure as hell could do a lot worse than him.
"Cash knows?" Blaze sighed.
I shrugged. "Nora said she wouldn't say anything, but I'm not sure if keeping secrets from Cash counts."
"Well shit," Blaze chuckled, but there was no humor in the sound.
I couldn't help the way I felt my stomach clench at his reaction. "Are you embarrassed?" I questioned.
Blaze's warm eyes narrowed as he scooted in closer to me. "Embarrassed?" he questioned.
I nodded. "For them to know that you fucked the Tribe Trainwreck?" I elaborated.
Blaze never made me feel like he was ashamed to have created a friendship with me, or that there was a sexual attraction between us, but his reaction now was making me question that.
