Two day's after the dinner with Scott, Alex was riding around town in his truck listening to old-school country music before the police scanner he secretly installed into his car, connected to his radio, went off.

"Unit one, do you copy?" a man said over the radio as Alex reached over and lowered the volume on his music to hear the police scanner.

"Unit one, copy," Sheriff Stilinski, Stiles's dad, replied.

"Got a report of a possible 187," the dispatch officer said as Alex's eyes widened slightly.

"A murder?" he questioned before turning around as his truck drifted, skidding across the empty street. Alex made a hard U-turn and sped off down the road to where the 187 was.

It took Alex only minutes to get to the scene. Upon arrival, Alex slowed to a stop as he hopped out of his truck and walked through the crowd to see the scene.

Sheriff Stilinski was standing at the back of the ambulance as he was talking to Jackson, who was yelling at him angrily, while Lydia was sitting in the back of the ambulance, looking like she was in shock.

Alex stopped himself from going over to her to comfort her as he clenched his fist, holding himself in place while watching Jackson yelling in Sheriff Stilinski's face.

"Oh, whoa, is that a dead body?!" Stiles called out from his dad's cruiser, effectively getting his dad out of the tense situation with Jackson.

Alex's eyes went to the gurney, which had a sheet over the body as one of its arms was hanging out.

It was hard to distinguish from where Alex was standing, but he thought he saw claw marks on the guy's arm, which made him narrow his eyes.

Looking around, Alex made eye contact with Stiles, whose eyes widened in shock at seeing him there. Breaking eye contact, Alex turned and disappeared into the crowd as people pushed forward to get a better look. Stiles tried to follow him with his eyes but lost him as he sighed in defeat before getting back in his dad's cruiser.

Arriving back at his truck, Alex hopped in and pulled out his phone, hitting speed dial as he put the phone up to his ear as his arm rested on his windowsill.

"Hey, we got a problem. It struck again," Alex said as he glanced back at the video store before doing a double take as he saw two figures on the roof before they disappeared.

"Come home. We'll talk when you get back," his dad said before Alex hung up and looked back at the roof again before starting his truck and taking off.

The next day Alex noticed that Lydia wasn't in homeroom. She wasn't in any of her classes. And for some reason, Allison wasn't in school either, along with Scott, who was absent. It didn't take long for Alex to put the pieces together.

Scott had obviously taken Allison and skipped school with her since Alex knew his sister had never skipped a day of school in her life. He could only guess that it was because today was their birthday.

Later in the day, as he was leaving class, Alex looked down the hall and saw Stiles talking to someone on the phone and making wild, exaggerated movements with his hands. Alex tried to read his lips but could only make out, 'Another guy's dead' and 'You have to do something about it.'

Alex narrowed his eyes as he wondered how much Stiles knew about this. Did he know about werewolves? Did he know who the beta was? All these questions swirled about in Alex's mind as he got a text and pulled out his phone, seeing it was from his dad.
