It had only been a few days since the final fight with the Alpha, Derek becoming the Alpha, and Alex finding out he was turning. Into what? He didn't know. And in those few days, the weekend, Alex had spent almost all his time at the hospital.

Alex was sitting outside Lydia's room in one of the waiting chairs next to Stiles, who was spread out over the arms of three chairs, sleeping, with Alex near his feet.

"Yes, just like that... No, no, you first," Stiles mumbled in his sleep, getting Alex to look over at him with an exasperated and annoyed look before glancing up at Melissa McCall, who was checking the clipboard for Lydia's room also staring at Stiles with the same look.

The two made eye contact as Alex shook his head annoyedly while rolling his eyes, to which Melissa smiled amusedly before putting the clipboard back in the holder on Lydia's door and leaving.

Stiles snickered in his sleep before snoring as his hand dropped from its resting spot and hit the wood, making a loud clacking sound. Alex winced at this as, to him, the small, insignificant sound was like someone slamming a long wooden board on the ground right beside his ear.

For the past two days since he'd "turned," Alex had been struggling to keep his powers hidden from his family. Scott tried to give some advice about dealing with it when he'd heard Alex was bit and turning... but it didn't help. His senses were now dialed up to eleven. He could hear the slightest, faintest sounds, every silent fart, every pen tap, everything. And he could smell it all, too. His sense of smell was far more powerful than his hearing, which was saying something.

Sitting in the hospital, Alex could smell everything: every chemical and drug, person, thing, food... and it was horrible. But the worst part was he could smell the people who were dying or already dead, and he could smell the blood and infection of every wound.

Stiles turned over in his position to lie on his back. Alex sniffed and looked like he had smelled something awful as he turned away, covering his nose.

He could smell how long it had been since Stiles had showered, and worst of all, he could smell Stiles's lust and arousal from whatever wet dream he was having.

That was another thing he could smell now. He could now determine a person's emotional state by how they smelled based on what chemicals their body releases.

Alex's ears twitched when he heard Lydia grunt softly and the sound of her bed moving from inside her room, which told him she was up and getting out of bed.

"You want help getting in the shower?" Mr. Martin asked.

"Maybe if I was four and still taking bubble baths...," Lydia said snidely, getting Alex to smirk in amusement as he heard her limp to the bathroom attached to her room as Mr. Martin sighed.

"Right. I'll just wait outside, then... Where it's slightly less sarcastic..." he said as Alex looked up just as Mr. Martin walked out of the room and noticed him and Stiles sitting in nearby chairs.

Mr. Martin looked at Melissa and waved her over as the two looked at Stiles.

"They've been here all night," Mr. Martin asked, gesturing to the both of them.

"They've been here all weekend," Melissa said before looking at Alex. "That one's at least gone home to shower," she said. Alex gave an awkward wave as Mr. Martin nodded.
