- Peeta's PoV -
- We have to get her body back! We also have to get Annie out of there! Now is the perfect time! I yell at Coin.
- It's still way to risky Peeta. Coin says.
- If this isn't the perfect time there will be no perfect time. I say to her.
- I'll send a team to the Capitol then, we will save Annie and her body then. I hope Annie Cresta is alive atleast so we get something out of this. Coin says annoyed.
- Thank you. I volunteer to go. I say to her.
- I wouldn't normally have let you but I sense there is no stopping you. I'll put up a volunteer list for people to write their name on. Here you can write yours on the top already. Coin says handing me a pen.
- Thank you. I say again writing my name at the top.
I feel nervous and also a bit sad. I will see how she have been living it for these two months. I just want us to go as fast as possible so we can get the highest possible chance of saving her. Two trained medics that are both doctors and soldiers have volunteered and of course Gale. Boggs has also listed his name. Two higher soldiers of 13 has also written their name and now we are enough to go.
We all go to the hovercrafts and get in one. We got all med supplies needed for both Annie and Katniss. We haven't seen Annie's condition and we know Katniss condition. Finnick wanted to go but he couldn't because he hasn't been able to do anything. He has only been thinking about Annie and nothing else. We have our supplies and our gear and now we are ready to go.
As we take off I feel scared, sad. I have been training but it still feels scary. This is my first mission and also a very dangerous one. The Capitol is mostly ready for everything and they have often figured everything out. It will take some hours to reach them aswell so I got lots of time to calm down.
Hours have now passed as we fly into the Capitol's airspace. We have finally reached it. I take a deep breath as we begin making our way towards the training center. They drop us off and we zipline down to the glassroof which we break by shooting. We successfully land in the training center. As gas has filled the room lies peacekeepers that have passed out.
- Check. I say seeing the first one.
We begin making our way towards the way we were told Katniss cell was. It was mostly just opening the door, throwing a gasbomb in, closing the door, waiting, going in. We come closer but as we reach the last room before the cells it's a bunch of shelves and tables with torture devices and syringes filled with stuff. I take a look around before the light turns on, I'm scared our cover has been blowed.
I desperatly try to turn of my nightvision so I won't get blinded. Minutes pass before the communication between us is back and we are all ready. Now we begin rushing. We throw our gas in the door and just as we open I almost begin crying. I see Annie lying unconscious, she looks mostly unharmed. Katniss is the opposite, she lies there dead. As they begin picking the girls up I see that Katniss has written stuff on the floor. I get a glimpse of it before they pull me away. I remembered everything except for one thing, I hope it won't be important.
As we begin making our way back to where we came from we hear reinforcement coming so we begin running. Gale is carrying Katniss of course and Boggs is carrying Annie. I'm not carrying anyone except for my mental pain seeing Katniss with bulletholes through her forehead, elbows, knees and chest. I thought Snow said it was the stomach, not the chest. That could lead to a big difference. Being shot in the stomach is survivable but being shot in the chest is harder, it could have been a shot through her heart.
